Results don't matter

I think these last 2 games should be the trigger point for acting or not. Team performs better OK stay for the next season, team continues on its bumbling, incoherent way, bye bye Maguire (and around 7 to 10 of the existing squad). That gives off season to do a formal review and get a new coach giving them ability to purchase whatever new players they can and promote from wihtin.

Any new coach can be told they must work within the parameters of the developing WT plan, just a Maguire can.

I also think Hartigan is surplus to our needs now, since we are going to develop from within we dont need a specialised recruitment officer to look fro talent from outside. We will have Head coach (fill in name here), that bloke who i cant recall name of that works considering player stats and worth, Sheens and Pascoe with Kimmorley keeping his eyes on the junior squads. Surely that is enoughif we arent going to regualryl try to get talent from outside the pool of WT developed product- an individual approach to either club or the player coming off contract doesnt need Hartigan anymore surely.

Hartigan is instrumental to our success, getting in before the bigger clubs to sign young talent. With the network of school teachers, spies, scouts etc we can stay ahead of the bigger clubs. With Sheens aboard the face of WTs is much more palatable for potential recruits.

I'm yet to see his worth and suspect he's out of his depth.

I suspect his worth will be seen next year and the years after. I have no concerns in relation to his value. I do have concerns with Maguire getting his hands on these players. I feel the need for an innovative coach who coaches expansive attacking football with good defence, perhaps a Sheens' protege.

We don't have the cattle atm

Well our systems seem to suck..so I hope they don't get use to it..

Maybe the systems are good but the players suck.....

Maybe the players suck because of the systems lol

Would that be because they may not be used to the NRL system yet because they are young ? just asking..lol...

I was just playing and extending the line of thought.

To be honest my problem with Madge is his inability to adjust. I believe he needs a roster to adjust to his suit his coaching style rather than adjusting his coaching style to suit his roster.

Surely a coach has to come up with a style to suit the players strengths not the other way around. He has shown he is not going to change by chasing more bash and barge props like Thompson. How many props does he need in this joint. I think we need mobile ball playing backrowers and centres, not more props. The game has gone past his methods.

But he has changed his attacking style .....Madge sides in the past have never relied on playing off the cuff football like the WT's do .....defensively what he can he do if they can't make their tackles or control the ruck defensively ...nothing else will work

What off the cuff footy do we play apart from stupid offloads being thrown to no one in our own half?

If anything I feel we are too predictable.

I knew you'd say that.

All the comments avout our attack this or that.

Our attack is fine what isnt is our defence.

We need to move on Luciano Leilua who us our biggest weakness and we need to focus in defence and get a new defence assistant

**‘Pray for our souls’: Star predicts ‘scary’ Bellamy spray after Storm taught brutal lesson**

Brandon Smith’s message was simple after Melbourne lost 22-10 to Parramatta in a shock Round 24 result on Saturday night - “pray for our souls”.

Smith was referring to a predicted almighty spray from Storm coach Craig Bellamy, who was captured on Fox League broadcast looking mightily unhappy in his box several times during play.

The loss ended a win streak that lasted 19 games and equalled the record set by the 1975 Roosters side.

TW, being tough doesn't mean it is the smart way of doing things. Maguire's results confirm that fact.

Bellamy’s doesn’t, it’s the people you have, that make it happen, giving them a cuddle doesn’t.

Sheens will probably want to make him a prop, make Talau a 2nd rower, and Nofoaluma a 5/8.

And you think that's a bad move ?

People have been saying all year to move LL to lock and Talau is a forward, haha.
It could just actually work.

I will wait and see what Madge can do next year and after that with this group of young guys, they may catch on what it takes to win NRL games with a solid preseason ....

I had enough of the Sheenius way for so long after the 05 win,he should have won another premiership with what he had,and dare I say he didnt use them correctly...just as people accuse Madge of....Sheens had a lot more talent than Madge has atm....

I agree with this one. He is great offensively on an edge but his defense is killing us at times. He is probably our best forward in relation to tackle busts and offloading. I'd like to see him in the middle.

I'd play him off the bench though and you could use him on an edge or in the middle.

That is what some people overlook,Sheens had a team good enough to win at least one more premiership after 2005 but could only get us into the semis twice in 7 years.

Smartest thing you've said in weeks.

Only seen ya posting in the covid thread.

See Kent was asked on 360 if Rumours true Madge getting sacked next week.
If that was the case no idea who would replace him and no Rumours out there either
probably bs
