Madge

I think the stars aligned and Latrell played one of the finest games of his career.

Which comes back to Wayne Bennetts man management. Noting that Wayne was careful to deliberately play it down at the press conference. Tactical, except his origin backing.

Madge had no means of responding and i dont think many clubs could. It shows how powerful this loose cannon can be on his day and the analysts regret hes been off with the pixies for a lot of it so far.

It seems to me that Madge has no realistic option but to get Mam back pronto to try and salvage the season.

He will need a lot more besides, but technically Mam has done his time, so he can be rushed back in.

Nothing against Madge but i still think Kevvie deserved at least another season. Broncos need more patience and that elusive consistency.

Too many people obsessed with the past .....look forwards everyone ...it doesn't look too bad WTs wise
Well the general betting market had us finishing at 10th, 11th or 12th at the start of the season.

Lets take 11th as the middle of this.

Factor in the bye and we are doing ok about 5th. So good news.

The storm would be massive scalp if we can jag it. We are still a thorn for sides, but we would start to command a lot more respect if we could inflict such damage.

For our retained players, it would be almost unthinkable. Happy chappies.

We have to taunt them, get under their skin. Theyve probably been set upon by Bellyache all week.

Thereabouts yes but premiership no, I had doubts madge will get anymore out for them.
The old-style vein popping aggression head spitting in your eye coaching style looks to be the dinosaur approach heading for extinction.

Wondering if they need a coaching style like Benji's to bring the team together so many others have failed, before you get any ideas donkeys bugger off you can't have him.

I don't think Madge is strictly vein popping aggression. (He does have that club in the bag tho..)

He's that distinct brand of coach that didn't really have much of a first grade career, and as such I don't think can't really resist wanting to be pulling all the strings tactically on game day and wants to be the main tactician behind a team's victory, too much over his players. I think every coach needs to be this to some degree, but Madge just takes it too far.

That's why he's always quick to say, "It's on me," after certain defeats, and why he's really trigger happy with dropping players. That's my theory anyway. I was really underwhelmed watching him on tales from Tiger Town. I was totally unconvinced by that "you blokes got me" bit. Just weird and intense. But there is no argument that short term intensity really translated well to Origin, and got NSW playing like tough underdogs. He also mopped the floor with Billy Slater in the mind games stakes, which Laurie Daley will struggle to do.

He had a bespoke Silvertails squad built at Souths with Richo's nous and Rusty's fame/charisma, but people often forget just how much South's underperformed in his last two seasons there with that incredible squad. He's a real complex character.

Madge is coaching style is perfect for State of Origin or Test teams. He can not coach a NRL side period and this will be his last Nrl head coaching job,

The Broncos have the same issues that they had under the previous coach also accused of not being able to coach and the one before that lasted season and a half also not able to coach the Broncos. So yeh keep telling the players that it's working for them.

It’s been a topsy turvy season for just about every team bar the Bulldogs. It’s the most even comp I’ve seen in a very long time and I’m loving it! I’m sure the Broncos will bounce back at some stage. Can’t see them missing the eight with that squad, but you never know.

Just to add my 2 cents, one of his biggest weaknesses is the bench management.
He use to stuff that up week in week out with us, and even in the state of origin he made some horrible decisions

Why those 2 idiots in charge thought Tales from Tiger Town would be a good idea I just don't understand they should have been sacked straight away.

As for madge he has proven he is good in short term use, reasonable for the kiwis and good result with the blues but clubland has proven lately he has a use by date.

Anyone see the spiel about Madge my Elijah Taylor? Honestly think he would be spot on. Really liked Elijah. He gave away 3-4 penalties a game and a lot of people were giving him crap for it, but he was the only player that slowed the ruck. The rest were 2 seconds then off. He. Slowed it down to storm levels.

Felt sorry he didn't have the back up

Hey Madge ,have you ever heard of KARMA?
Its biting you on the backside as we speak.

We lost Utoikamanu because of Madge not picking
him in state of origin. Nobody can tell me that Madge
didnt to it out of spite for getting sacked by our club.
Now he faces being sacked by the Broncos.

LMAO say what you will about Madge but if you think Stef deserved an Origin spot last year than you clearly didn’t watch much of him last year.

Broncos denying there are any problems with madges coaching methods, but this is how it started at Souths and Tigers rumours of being over trained during the week and didn't their last game look like they had been.

Don't now when his use by date is but pretty sure it has just been stamped on his arse, you think he would be smart enough to learn from past mistakes, classic old dog new tricks stuff.

Donahy seemed too desperate to sign a "name" coach rather than the correct coach for the Broncos.
