Madge

Elijah's quote;

“A lot of people are asking me what’s wrong with Madge (Maguire) and what’s wrong with the Broncos,” Taylor said.

“One, it’s his intensity. I’ve never seen a coach ride the game so hard.

“After a win the world is a better place. After a loss you’re off to a funeral and someone will be getting cooked at the video session.

“Two, training methods. Ninety-five per cent of the time on the field it’s full contact. You haven’t done an NRL pre-season until you have done a Michael Maguire pre-season.

“Three, time efficiency. Let’s have a meeting for a meeting for a meeting. I’d get home from training and the kids don’t know who I am any more.”.

Ouch.
You left out all the "eh bro" and "swear to god cuz", he doesn't go 5 seconds without saying one of those.

BS 2 your last line
100% BS on the last line.

I had to reno my old house at Campbelltown. Lovely neighbourhood. Good people and friendly.
The only snakes were the dodgy Richardson and Wrench real estate agent. I can't believe the idiot gave us a ordered price list of 3 pages and the first page said "page 2/4"... even then they tried saying "it's within market range" and every house they had was 40k+ above the range they were saying...

Hey if you don't understand numbers, don't try and con people who do.

Ah, rant over.

But the people, first class people. Yea people are doing it tough there. Yes Leumeah and Claymore are damn poor areas. I would take anyone from C'town ahead of a north shore princess or Vaucluse vulture!

(okay, may want the north shore princess for a night.. but hey )

Aside from Liam - Bryce & Rowdy - we have produced zero genuine long term NRL talent from the Macarthur region!

Parasites like Nofa and Galvin are the 2nd tier...

All the Cambo-Minto etc slum kids think the world owes them a living & have zero character or loyalty!!

John Skandalis would belt you in the face twice if he heard you say that. One for leaving him out and another for bagging out Minto like that.

Ezra Mam - 5 missed tackles and 3 errors

Cory Paix - 1 run for 1 metre

Kobe Hetherington - 4 runs for 29 metres

Billy Walters - 1 run for 5 metres.

These four - and plenty more - will have a nervous wait until the team is named on Thursday afternoon.

Lol good to see madge working his magic at the Broncs, his use by date looks to be ahead of schedule.

Boy I bet there is a lot of rumblings amongst the players, would love to see some of their text messages.

I would almost be tempted to sign Billy Walters to get Kevin down here.

Seriously, as an assistant coach I think he could bring something this club needs... I even mean more then a backup coaching option. Were lacking an old hand, someone who knows how a club should run and what we should be doing.

Ofcourse we can pinch a forward or two as well.

Madge will get sacked at the Broncos, then become the next Australian coach once Mal moves onto the Bears
That’s not a bad thing IMO. His intensity, and obvious drive for success , is purpose built for tournaments and one off matches . In a league where there’s 27 rounds , you can’t have a guy who ride or dies every week as your leader . It would be emotionally draining , and then guys would shut it out if they themselves dont have the emotional maturity to deal with this .
I think he’s cooked as an nrl head coach . I can’t see him lasting the year if this keeps up . Which sux because I think he’s a good bloke , and he obviously cares .

I wonder given how much work centres and wingers do these days, how much does that breed laziness in forwards? So many times wingers and centres take the first three or four hit ups of a set, leaving virtually nothing for the forwards to do with the ball in hand. Definitely not how things were 20-30 years ago.
