LIVE GAME Magic Round v Sea Eagles

Live Game Discussion
Left nut for a Haumole equivalent. Embarrassingly superior power to anything we have.
Haumole v Seyfarth...my god that was something else, like a lamb
being hit by a B-Double
Ennis....genius

Every time they went back to their edges they had an overlap. We never seem to be able to defend anything out wide. Our backs are all too small and there is no trust in D.
Our wingers are tiny and there is a complete mismatch when we play against teams with guys like Saab, Coates, Tupou, Marky, Bostock, Young, etc
Skelton is at least a bigger body.
For the last 3 weeks we have been dominated in the middle. Our pack has turned to mush. Soft in D and no intensity or aggression. Until we fix this we will continue getting hammered.

That's so silly, the medics make those calls not the coach.
Doesn’t matter who makes the call really. It was a poor call, it happened in the an early game in the season that’s a 12 week turn around after operation. It’s ok to make those calls half way through the season when the risk is mitigated. But in a long season he should have had the surgery! The shoulder is always weaker after that first dislocated, dumb decision. Now we have Doubie doing the same thing but more understandable cause at the time of year!!

Need to use the bye to restart the season. Were 5 - 5 and have some guys returning. It could start turning around really quick. Or it can be the end of our season. Up to the players and leaders in the squad to start leading.
Agree, but unfortunately we are notorious for being flat after coming back from a bye. (or Fiji) 🤣

Can we play the Distemper Dogs into form after the bye? (seems to work for other teams.) 😡

Bad enough to get thrashed but to Manly as well 😷💩
I’m glad I’m off o/s next week as in my humble opinion we will not get ourselves out of this hole.
No semi footy for us again this year.
Shows you when you don’t plan well and have some quality back up in lower grades.

The reason Latu is looking lost is because he is. This business of pushing Jock Madden in front of him and pissing him around for most of the season has cruelled him. He is a half or a five eight and i don't think i have seen him in that position for even a minute this year. He needs to be back in the halves and now. if anything i would move Luai to half and let Latu play a running game from Five eight.
I agree, luai back to half and under the spotlight...earn your keep...and latu to 6. Or 2nd option latu 7 and luai stay at 6......madden has to go, his defence is the reason we keep collapsing on the right.

Latu had to be picked there otherwise it would’ve been Hope starting at 9 again. And Jock played well to start the season while Latu was coming back from his shoulder reco.

He wouldn’t have been so rampant if Fainu was there. Damn I’m pissed we are missing him!

I expected better. I didn't hope for better, but I still expect blokes to make their tackles and hold the footy - basic stuff first.

However not just the injury toll, it's touch footy out there for every team. Not entirely sure what's the cause but it's cricket scores almost every game, teams getting blown off the park and not even the same teams every week, e.g. South and Sharks belt a team then get smashed then belt another side.

I reckon they may need to eliminate the 6-again, because whilst it was interesting for a while, it's highly discretionary, often arbitrary, and teams have become very brittle defending back-to-back sets, especially after a run of points. It appears teams have run the data and know kust what to do if they collect multiple ole repeat sets.

I don't personally want to see teams run away with it every game. Already this round:
38-16
32-10
46-18
18-12 - - > 1 decent contest
34-8

Last week
44-12
28-12
33-30
44-10
36-12
32-4
44-16
30-18

Almost entirely one-sided matches. 30+ scorelines are standard.
Refs are becoming the most recognisable blokes on the field. Ruining the sport imo.

Its depressing however one positive is Dogs are now at full strenth other than a winger (kiraz) and are getting towelled up. If we get a few back after the bye, esp api and bula....AD will be a bonus we should be ok. Get latu and luai building their combinations over the next 2 weeks, guarantee roberts Sam's spot until he is back and Sione back to middle rotation.

And Kikau out … they are a rabble but I’ll bet they are the favourites in two weeks ..

Beyond getting joy from any other sides woes when our problems are not looking like having an effective solution any time soon.
Thank god for our good start that is looking more like a false reality given the challenges ahead

The Cowboys / Roosters game was hilarious with the back to back six agains. To think some refs like the sound of the ringing bell over the loud speaker when they give them

I understand but if you get a few bad calls and still let in 48 points then you are a mentally weak team. Do you think the Panthers blame ref calls when they are playing? They rest and stop the next set. This team folds like water. Missing tackles is one thing if you runup with intent. Sit back and miss tackles and your just a passenger.
Do the Panthers get the bad calls?
