The last two wins have been good but definitely not a successful year. We did much better than last year but still less than 50% win ratio.

I feel Parra have had a more positive year than us in terms of what they've built for next year.

We've relied on grit and motivation for the last two games. I haven't seen a set pattern or something that we have done consistently well all season. Inidividuals like May, Turuva, Sione and Douehi have been good, but we haven't really built a system.

Dogs, Penrith, Eels, Roosters etc. follow a consistency like line speed, kick chase, aggression etc. we haven't got anything like that.

I feel we are still relying on individuals rather than systems. I'd be happy to still come bottom 4 next year if we are spending that time developing a good system.

Jason Ryles has done well with the restructure of Parramatta. He has some real workers in the pack. Bring in Jack Williams and Dylan Walker are consistent players. Longi, Lomax & Addo-Carr in the backs have been good as well. However they are still heavily reliant on Mitch Moses who get injured for long periods of the year. I don't think the WTs are as reliant on one player as Parra is the Moses.

Hard to say a success as we havent made the 8, but it is no doubt the first year in a LONG time where we are clearly on the right track. Good to see.

During our mid year slump I thought we should at a minimum change up our assistant coaches. Hard to argue we should change much at the moment. A few games to go though so will be easier to assess the season in full when it's all over.

From where we are right now though, I'd be keeping Douiehi at 7 next year with Latu at 14. Gives us good balance and there is no rush to make Latu our starting 7. He is still only 20. The likes of Thurston, Cronk and our own Luai weren't even starting halves at that age.

So let me get this right, if the Roosters win on Saturday night, any chance we had of making the 8 is gone, even if we win every game from here on right? Not that I think we’d make it anyway, but just checking the possibility.
