It’s great for The Maggie’s.

I’m from the Balmain side originally. Genuinely happy that West’s get to have a link to there history in the ISP side.

West’s almost went under quite a few times so I’m thinking that they understand Balmains plight.

Magpies could of taken over the joint venture in a coup, however it would of been counter productive from a PR and Financial point of view, so they would of been doing it solely to be petty. Good on them for taking the moral high ground and supporting the other side of the JV Instead of trying to complete a total take over. It is the olive branch that has totally solidified the merger.

I hope one day the Balmain tigers can get financial enough to have there own ISP team too. No matter how unlikely it would be.

I think it would be great for rugby league and West’s tigers to one day have Balmain vs West’s as a curtain raiser to an NRL match. It could be the one round that each respective ISP club could bring back there past greats and really celebrate their history. The ISP round would almost become an attraction to the general public not just the hardcore fans. With the emotions not being as raw as they were initially hopefully there wouldn’t be any resentment anymore and something to bring the fans together.

Being that it is the ISP teams promoting the ISP game before the NRL, the West’s tigers NRl team could be seen as independent and not having a bias.

To the West’s tigers fans who didn’t originally support either team it would just be a great curtain raiser celebrating the history of a great club.

Love it. Back to Lidcombe Oval ….. hope the hot dog man is still alive?

He went out of business when Dallas left.

I would imagine our 4 development players would get a run during the season as well - I think all are still eligible for u20s but have already proven themselves at that level.

I'd have Gamble at 5/8 with either Thompson or Naqiama at FB and Heleta on the wing.

What is the fuss about…

Pathways won't change one iota ...call them the Wests Magical Mysterious Unicorns ...the important part was Cleary's comment that coaching structure and philosophy down through the grades will mirror the NRL....

The funding will remain the same regardless ...the other good news is it will revert back to 3 games of footy for home games with the Under 20's and ISP playing on the same day as NRL...

Your new team name says more about you than we'd care to know thanks

Good to get 3 games on match days , especially on a Sunday , just like the old days , see the junior talent and hope you can clean up all three grades :sign:

I'd be happy enough that. Only put Gamble at 1 cos i like a fullback who can ball play.

Apparently we've signed ex shark Nathan Gardner on a nsw cup contract.

Interesting reading his wiki page, it said that it was announced on the 7th of October. I don’t remember that, nor has it ever been mentioned on the forum. Really don’t know what happened to this guy. Had a lot of talent when he played for the Sharks, scored some great try’s. Then fell off the face of the earth.

Does anyone know who else is in the ISP squad. Website shows Heleta, Garner, Sironen and Tali. Gamble must be one. There should be about 10 more. Is there a list somewhere?

Gamble is in the top 30 squad - as will be a number of ISP players each week depending on injuries. Anyone in the top 30 can be selected for ISP if they miss out on NRL selection. However you would expect that there are more than 4 players on 2nd tier contracts.

Thats a good 2nd tier pickup.

Just a reminder to all he was one of the banned players involved in the ASADA scandal at the Sharks

Has speed and is a goal kicker , two things we need , could be a handy pick up if he finds 2011-2013 form
