I have been pushing this for a while but if I was Cleary I would be playing Drinkwater in the 9 until Liddle returns and then play him in the 14\. He would give better service that Godinet and Matt M and his goal kicking would be invaluable.

I have been pushing this for a while but if I was Cleary I would be playing Drinkwater in the 9 until Liddle returns and then play him in the 14\. He would give better service that Godinet and Matt M and his goal kicking would be invaluable.

Well Drinkwater isn't currently in the top 30 so we would have to fill one of our 2 spots with him and upgrade his pay first

He is a halfback but I do understand your point because our 9s are stifiling our game without Liddle

I know he would have to be upgraded. I also realise he is a halfback. But I am pretty confident he would be happy to play 9 in first grade.

He is not a particularly tall halfback and so would be quite suited to playing hooker.

Only question mark is can he handle defensive workload. I reckon he could.

I might get my head bitten off but here goes. I do like the look of Garner; he has a great physique for a second rower and he runs some nice lines. I wonder how he would go after some work with Ronnie Palmer.

Played a bit of hooker for saints in ISP. Looks a natural half to me but yeah, couldn't be any worse then McIllwrick/godinet

Kinda a shame re drink water, he looks real good at this level but just lacks that quality to become a first grade half
