Maybe I misheard. He was full of praise for us, though.

As an aside, Cronk is such a horrible commentator, he was talking about how souths won a game playing well below their best. But Souths completed well and were in good form tonight, that's what pleased about the Tigers performance. And, unlike Cronk, Bennett actually paid tribute to both teams.

I was a little disappointed with Madge's comments. Fair enough to pay tribute to the effort, but he should be talking about finishing off the game better.

I have 2 things to say to that ;
The first from Cronk was garbage , as the completion rates were through the roof , and I don’t think Souths were off their game at all . For once they’re plays didn’t work , and we figured them out defensively .

2. I dunno if we did fail to finish that game . Nrl 2021 is such a momentum sport . Into shift it one way or the other , is like trying to turn the titanic . And the AJ injury and Talau send off , ruined any chance we had .
At that point , it was just holding on for dear life.
A slight nudge to Tom burgess’ arm and we are talking about this as a win for the ages . We just watched one of the best games you’ll ever see .

I’d like to say , we didn’t ice it , but if I’m honest , that implies we had any control over that last 5 mins .

Yeah game commentary was hilarious at points. 5 minutes in we hear Parker say Souths were getting on top. There were 75 minutes left 😂😂😂

And Cronk at the end saying Souths were well below their best... maybe they just got outplayed ya egg

Souths were below their best because TIGERS rattled them and forced them to play that way. End of the day difference was star power, their origin players stepped up and we don't have any of those. We will get there though

Proud of the effort. What the West’s Tigers is all about.
Disappointed not to get the reward. It hurts but we’ll get a lot out of it.
Simpkin, halves and Moses good. Liked what Simpkin brought to the team.
Defence was good. Put it down to attitude.
Talked about Nofa moving to the left side. He’s ebbed and flowed in recent weeks.
Not sure on AJ injury.
Mentioned a few decisions that went against us. Questioned why technology isn’t used. Wanted Mitchell situation handled on the field.

Definitely wasn’t happy about the Mitchell situation.

He was not. It’s the closest I’ve seen him to being openly critical of game officials.

Plus lets be honest if the calls were the other way around (E.g. Penalties and 6 again calls ) we would of won this game ... I think with all the extra 6 agains calls and penalties we did an outstanding job to be in the game. South were out on there feet and they had an extra 10 sets more then us over the game plus also had like 10 rep players.

I only hope this shows the young guys that if you put in the effort the rewards will come on most occasions. I think this game is a season changer and love Simpkin at 9 over liddle.

spot on that was a game changing moment. he put his foot out (there is a picture of that online somewhere) then at the end of it kicked a player in the head.

He had to call it out. The NRL probably won't to anything. Look forward to the refs summary next week. If he gets a fine we should challenge it.

Yep. Add up the extra penalties and 6 agains that they got against us (roughly 11): give us those extra 66 tackles and we were a shoe-in to win. Extremely difficult to win close games when the ref is clearly biased towards your opponent.

Correct... But people think you are whinging when you bring it up and say the team needs to be more discipline.. But when this happens most weeks its hard to stay positive and understand there frustration.. ALL WE WANT is a FAIR GO.. If we got a fair go tonight we win and its thats simple.

Yeah, I mostly agree with that. I think we stuffed up in the final 20 by not pressuring the kicker well. Our defensive sets were pretty good and our play was generally solid but we really slacked off on those last tackles when we could have really had good field position off some of those defensive sets. Often we can't pressure the kicker because the other team is belting us but this time there just wasn't the urgency.
