Watching NRL 360 they were saying Seibold would be gone after this season and who ever came in would have have to be a heavy hitter to change the place beside Craig Bellamy who else would fit the bill in the NRL and would take great pleasure in coming in and cleaning up Seibolds mess and would be a long term option for the Broncs this is why Madge should be extended NOW he is turning WT'S around whilst we all hope for a good result this year I can see it being further down the track the way the team is building at present and with the clearance of dead wood and with the COE coming to fruition WT'S could be anything over the next few season

So MaGuire who is contracted for 2021 and Seibold will be gone in 2021 and MaGuire will take over...Is that what they said..

If so see ya...

No that wasn't said what they said was whoever came in would have to be a heavy hitter and be able to change the Broncos the only coaches that fill that bill as I see it are Bellyache and Madge

Both are contracted for next year though..so Donks would have to plan a gap year..should go down well..

I'm sure that would sit really well with a disgruntled playing group.

More dysfunctional than disgruntled but whatever happens when the Dominoes start to fall who knows who will end up where.

Green will end up at Brisbane and Madge will stay at WT. it's clear the reason he hasn't extended is because both parties are in no rush and clearly don't want to distract the playing group from making the 8 this year.

as someone mentioned before, there's a centre of excellence due in 12 months that will apparently be the benchmark on the eastern seaboard and as we've seen with the signings we've made, Madge is here for the long haul to see the fruits of his labour, unlike the pathetic excuse for a coach who was so spineless he was manipulated by his manager.

Madge is an honourable man of his word and will certainly be here past his current contract.

this is what everyone was saying about Ivan too. Things can change quickly..

True but I’d argue Madge is planning for the future a lot more than Ivan ever did. He’s playing the long game for sure

Yeah but we thought that about Ivan too. Everyone went nuts when it was announced he could leave. We only hate him retrospectively.

I don’t know.
I’d say Madge would of been keen on staying at the Bunnies as a career coach motivated by how Trent Robinson has carved out a successful career with the Roosters.
I’d say he feels he has a home here and would relish in being a career coach with us.
It’s not just the first grade Madge is interested in, Madge is heavily invested in all facets of the club which is important for a coach that is going to be around a long time.

Question for the forum, who do you think the Broncos will target to replace Seibold?

If he's available JC he's the only one who can work miracles

At least he's a bit younger than Bennett.

I get the feeling Paul Green might have been approached prior to his demise at the Cowboys.

I would be extending McGuire regardless of results and how they finish on the ladder. Why ?
You can actually see the players individually and collectively are developing and improving as players and a team . Compare this to dean pay I did not see improvement in any players .
Recruitment and retention , you can actually see that he knows what he is doing and has a plan in place , he is not solely focusing on short term results but also long term.
In regards to direction the club and team , they are moving in positive direction . I look at 3 of the clubs of past decade who have underavhieved and in 8 this year . Newcastle , eels , raiders
Brown rebuilt them and with astute buying and promotion of youngsters had them competing again , in the end they stopped playing for him , but how he rebuilt them should not be underestimated .
Sticky built steel into raiders but again had plan
Arthur through recruitment , year in year on has improved that side with blip in 2018 that I put to the Hayne and Norman affect , but again I saw a plan.
I see what madge is doing and I see resemblance to all three of those sides.

Don’t worry about short term results , he has club heading right direction and don’t forget he is a premiership winner , which is more than any other muppet you would get to replace him

Jeez, just offer Maguire a 2 yr extn with a further 2 yrs in coach's favour provided agreed KPI's are met.
Coaching stability is so hard to get- especially for WT. Our playing roster has been chopped and changed for different coaches too often. At very least when time comes look for a similar approach coach to keep roster changes to minimal if we dont have Maguire extend for whatever reason.

At very least Maguire has got roster in an acceptable 10 players coming up for renewal each season. Now comes the effort to get ratio right for replacing forwards, backs and halves each season. At present I think we are more crying out for backs (and halves) than forwards.

Rhink Broncos will target Paul Green probably already looked at and deal done already
or maybe bellamy to brisbane
which would leave either Jason Ryles to storm or kevin walters

Considering we have Debuted 4 players this year and used 29 players (equal most of any teams) and are still in a position to fight for the finals.
Madge has done a fantastic job to build this team but most importantly with a focus on ensuring we are built for long term success he hasn’t shirked his week to week responsibility of ensuring we remain in the hunt for the finals and improve throughout the season.

The big difference is Madge doesn't have a son playing first grade for another team. That, and I'd like to think he has more logic. He's definitely building toward something with a roster of young talent - again, another difference between the two with Ivan paying overs for established veterans. You get the feeling Madge would definitely want to be sticking around.
