Manly - I don't expect big

Stopping Watmough running for his usual 300M against us would be a good start. He just destroys us. I know he is a fine player that never stops but some of our efforts against him have been feeble. Limit him and we have the weapons to get over them

The NRL is such a tight competition these days. I'm confident that we will do well against Manly but I am definitely not relaxed about it…

Orford was usually a plus for us!! Cant remember too many games where he present to many problems. Watmough and Stewart usually save their best for us (the fullback Variety). Although I dont see Manly as being a big chance for the title, I do see them as a very tough round one opponent. At full strength and early in the season like most teams they are a 50/50 bet

The usual suspects that save their best for us usually have Orford steering the team around, even if he himself is not carving up, he allows the others to do so. I haven't seen much of Foran but he looks a runner of the ball. Their kicking is one area where someone will need to step-up. Lyon has a good short-game but is not proven long and Stewart doesn't kick unless he has to. They will not be as successful as previous years but the question is will they be competitive enough? I think this will be a match were patience and the mental game will be the deciding factors.

I certainly do, its gonna be a very hard physical first encounter.

Their size will only be a problem if we turn over a lot of ball through silly penalties and errors. You can't be defending all day against this Manly line-up because they have size right across the park.

I noticed against the Roosters in the trials we weren't getting quick play-the-balls and I think if we are to beat Manly, this is key because they will tire very quickly.

Players returning from stint in pommy land, who were never that flash to begin with (i still don't get this.)

It will be interesting to see how we go in the first few rounds with all the new faces in the squad and a few old faces returning, personally i think we'll be super sloppy and unorganized for a while because we STILL don't have a dominant halfback to run this side.

I don't expect anything from this game at all.
I would like to see wests-tigers tigers win and no players get any major injuries.
manly will be prepared. they will be out to prove they can perform well without matt orford in the team
don't treat them lightly, otherwise it will be a long and painful game, with wests-tigers on the wrong side of the scoreline.
