Marina Go - Members Q&A

Watched it and was lost in the background, like something out of a really bad 1950's sci fi flick. The Twilight Zone comes to mind, in fact I think the club is in one!

Thanks to Marina for taking the time out to answer those questions. I thought she really nailed the mood, was open, mostly honest and never took offense.

Unfortunately thats where it ends for me. I just cant buy this 3 year plan and that we hope to play finals football at the end of the 3 years.

Potter when he had a little luck with injury and before the Brian Smith review had us well into the top 8 and capable of matching and dominating the better teams.

This time frame and lack of accountability is not something ill ever accept.

They are aiming very very low.

Quick …let's all rush out and buy Platinum packages for next year ...
:roll

A rare and frank admission from a corporate leader; "Come back in 2017 - we won't be as crap as we are now!" Thanks, Ms Go. I am adjusting the 2016 budget right now to factor in no expense on membership, merchandise or game attendance.

Maybe it will be free admission to all Wests tigers home games throughout 2016.

Time for talk is over.
Its time to act.
Ive heard all this crap before…the promises, the goals, the Q&As....yeh they may be a new admin but Im sick to death of the talk and spin that comes out of concord...they talk the talk.

Show me results onfield, its all I give a damn about now...the excuses are wearing thin...stop talking, start acting and then I might listen...its all been nothing but crap previously.

Maybe all crap - but there will be no acting till they have some coin.

Then get some coin

Did she at least give any idea of what is the boards vision for when this mess is cleaned up other than just saying it will still be going at least into z2018, do they envisage that the club will remain in the NRL, and in Sydney ?
I don't think that that is too much to ask after she singlehandedly scared off most players who may have considered coming here in the future.

So geniuses, what are your brilliant ideas for how to dig us out of this mess? I'm assuming they're way better than what Go and the club has to offer? Something grounded in reality. Please don't dribble out some mess about us going all out for Craig Bellamy.

Potter had us sniffing the 8 for portions of seasons until he lost the players. Which players came out and supported him once he got sacked? Who supported him when the rumours were flying about him? Who's employing him now? No one. Maybe he just wasn't as great as he appeared. Sheens also had us around the 8 but I don't see anyone begging for him to come back.

She mentioned paying players who are at other clubs is a big reason we are in this mess.

Why not just pay them out their fully contracts in one hit this year, pay the fine for breaching the salary cap, and have space for next year to buy players??

Problem solved!

Positives I took from the interview were the new training facilities should be in place within 18 months, and the club is looking at long term goals rather than quick fixes and bad aid solutions.

Looking forward to the next instalments.

Interesting she admitted we are paying players that are no longer with us, and that is still one of the problems. We have had this problem with Gibbs etc and yet we are still doing it. If it is Blair is one was that done once this board was in place? (as he seems the most likely).

First time I've seen her speak and she seemed polished (obviously helps when you have to summit questions).

Question to those in the know however: what is her background? Does she have a track record of turning businesses around? or is she normally involved in well run companies so will have little experience in struggling companies?

Taylor taken out of context? That made me laugh, how many times has he said it - and meant it. I think that there has been quite a few members complaining about not renewing - I think that's why the "out of context" comment. Trying to limit the damage now.

Anyone else have a feeling Liverpool council are making the play and a move to Liverpool on the cards? The member day there too.

Ah it's funny, no matter who speaks, they cop a belting from the supporters.

Basically if you win we don't care what the mgmt. says, if we lose, they can't say anything.

Interesting that we've gone from a GF in 2016*, to top 4 in 2017^ to now 'hoping for finals' in 2017.
It's no wonder fans are so paranoid at the moment.

"Certainly we want to make the finals by year 3, we are not going to waver from that"
How lucky we all are with such lofty ambitions.
