Mario Fenech on the footy show

Having a few mates round for beers and a discussion was brought up about "the falcon". Yes, we all know hes a boofhead, but for years he's copped it from the idiots on the footy show. I for one hope he snaps it and drops the red nut one of these days. He's a decent bloke who does a hell of a lot for regional rugby league and the kids in the game and the boys give it to him every week. For me this a major downfall of the show and is treated with no respect and just on there for a laugh

Yeah, have to agree with that, tigertye Mario cetrtainly has thick skin - maybe he could become a politician! Probably getting paid big bucks to get ridiculed every week, so I'm sure he couldn't give a rip. It's not the only major downfall though, the whole show is a major downfall!
 
I think it's a bit of a gee up. They just do it to try and increase ratings.

I think off-screen you will find mario and fatty are probably decent mates.

i remember benny elias wasnt very nice to mario though
 
Ben Elias and Mario still don't get along, they had both on the show together a few years back, Elias spent the entire segment pushing his buttons. I can't believe Mario goes in every week to be treated like that even though it's clearly all set up. He either has no self respect or he's too stupid to get a job elsewhere (probably a bit of both). Along with Fatty, Mario is a clear weak link of the show. Both past their use by dates years ago. I used to enjoy league of their own, but they turned the segment into a farce.
 
I don't know why he let's them do some things to him, when they say to him hey we are going to tie u to this big wheel, what is he thinking does he think they won't do any thing to him, he is just asking for trouble when he goes "ok il do it"

Yeah I remember when both Benny Elias and Mario were on the show together.

Mario still works for the NRL doesn't he?
 
It's all for show.. Matty Johns offered him a spot on his Tv show last year so that mario could be taken seriously and mario declined.
If it was that bad mario wouldnt keep signing a new contract to keep appearing on the show

I cant believe Fenech allows himself to be degraded so much on the Footy Show….I thought this man was a proud man from Malta!?!...he is made to look like a huge f(t)ool
 
He allows it because he cares for the money he gets for his little bit more.

Surly he or thse around him have figured out that he has nothing to offer except being the point of mockery.

Yes, you are right in what you say Spartan!…but surely he is on either big bucks to continually have the pi** taken out of him or he has no pride!...I'm sure he has a brain and can play a role on the panel where he offers his insight into various NRL subject matters!. :crazy
 
The entire show is a jobs for the boys.

Only good panelists are Sterling, Gould and a while back Andrew Johns IMO.

Yeah agree Spartan At least with those guys you get some good ol common sense about the game usually . Don't be surprised if you see Matty Johns back next year if they get the TV rights
He also has some league sense when he not being the class clown
 
What about Darryl Brohman??? They take the piss out of him every week too!

Honestly they all take the piss out of each other and themselves
Still doesn't make it real funny
Some actual intelligent rugby league talk would be good from time to time

Yep that's true. I guess the more serious Footy Show is on Sundays.
