Wow thats a long contract….there must be get out clauses for injury surely.

Surely the Tigers wouldnt be that stupid.
Heaven forbid a career ending injury ala McCracken occuring to Benji–-thats a lot of cabbage tied up if there is no clause...

These things are usually weighted heavily in the players favour....not really a wise move imo.

Rubbish. I once semi-regularly reviewed NRL playing contracts when I worked as a solicitor in Sydney. They all contain clauses in relation to long-term injuries.

Ur dead set kidding Ink….......stokes that we have locked our marquees in for super long.

Farah/Marshall...tigers for life.

Awesome......

I see this as a good move both on and off the field. He is a big part of our marketing and on his day is dynamite on the field. The press will be disappointed as it will be six years before they can speculate on him going to Union or the Roosters or anybody else he associates with.

A tip of the hat to CT. Who I think picked it nearly a month ago.

Not to mention the corporate dollar and the increase in fan base.

Benji Marshall = money for the club

Great news

I can;t believe the amount of 'negative' responses to this news. This is fantastic for the club.
Top work to all involved.

 Now all we need is for someone to come out and say It was a done deal months ago….. 😱pen_mouth:

AWESOME NEWS!!! GO YOU TIGERS!! That's really got my excited for this year.

For all those who managed to somehow come up with some sort of rubbish negative spin. Are you all giant douches, or just most of you?

WOW - That's amazing news -

he obviously loves the tigers, what a guy! a great man on and off the field.

Proud to have him in our club.

Benji you are a legend!!… A one man club is unheard of these days, especially given benji is a superstar!...that is awesome news!..What a great Guy Benji is!...I can see at least 2 titles between now and 2015!

Great news for us…. but absolutely awesome news for Rugby League and the NRL. With players left, right and center going to UK Superleague, AFL, Union and I think a few will become professional curling players soon... getting one of the games 'superstars' to stay in the game for the next 6 years is awesome.

Now if only there was a salary cap exemption for one club senior players.

If Benji, one of the biggest drawcards in the game, is happy to extend and stay loyal to the club who rode through the lowest times of his career and see him emerge as the growing talent it is obvious he will become than who are we to complain?

Loyalty is such a rarity in this day and age and should be applauded.

For so many years since our inception we struggled to maintain marquee players and grow our brand. Now we have a stable base and a great front office.

I am one happy Tiger supporter at the moment. I agree, loyalty is hard to find these days, but I had total confidence in Benji re-signing for the future, as he comes across as a loyal person. Congratulations to Benji xx and the Tigers for securing their future! :sign: :supporter:

There is a salary cap concession or at least there used to be.

If you can find this written somewhere I would love to know… I always thought it would make sense, but didn't think there were any concessions for any players.

Can't find anything on NRL website:
