Benji has a great record against raiders when they were rubbish. How did he go against them since 2018? The exact same as the rest of our team, bad. The whole thing about him being 18-3 against them doesn’t change our chances against them at all it’s just a number.

I strongly disagree with this statement. When you bring in an inferior player into a crucial position whose form really doesn't warrant the promotion, what outcome are you hoping for? The Raiders have been good for some time and by writing what you have you undersell both the Raiders and the achievements of one of our greatest ever players.

The message it sends to me is you can be an underperformer on huge money and get a call up to the NRL. What are we trying to achieve?

>. So you love BenjiI I get that, but he never was and ***at 35 never will be a strong leader and game manager.*** I don’t know about you but I am sick of our halves not being able to close out a game, we needed this to happen,Brooks is very lucky Walters didn’t take his spot too

Do you think Reynolds will be a strong leader and game manager? I dont think he ever has been even at his SOO peak.

It will be on Brooks to do that now, Grub is there to play his natural game.

You can’t disagree with a a fact... having Benji in the team since 2018 hasn’t changed how we do against them, we still get flogged by them routinely. Marshall has a good record against them but that doesn’t change anything at all.

The point is that Madge is showing he’s willing to drop anyone who isn’t performing - even Benji. He’s directly led to 6 tries being scored against us (according to Fox sports) which is more than anyone in the comp. I don’t think Reynolds is better than Benji but I think we needed a shake up and Madge needed to show everyone that mediocrity is not acceptable.

Marshall and Brooks are both superior to Reynolds on any give day, even if playing poorly. Benji's dropping to me appears a gross overreaction to a disappointing loss. Change for the sake of change Is not going to achieve a lot. Benji does play well against the Raiders and we will miss him.

Now that the change has been made, I expect Maguire to be consistent for the remainder of the season.

It’s not just about the one loss though.... it’s about years of inconsistency from the club and former coaches have never had the balls to do something about it. Madge is finally putting these guys on notice.

Potter dumped Marshall to the bench ...objected to Farah getting a 4 year back ended deal and soon found himself dumped...

Taylor also attempted to change it as well most likely the wrong way admittedly

Voldemort ended up being a flog but attempted to through recruitment and failed..

Hopefully Maguire can or we’ll be onto the next guy soon enough

Brooks is lucky, he should have been dropped as well, but I have said for a couple of years now. Brooks is intimidated by Benji, leaves it to Benji to run the show, he needed this as much as the team needed it. It’s now up to Brooks, because Benji or Walters are there to take his spot.

Brooks comments on Benji dropping ... is this guy serious !!!!! Please 😂 The club needs to be careful in presenting a player commenting on a legend of the club being dropped that under performs himself on a regular basis .

Wests Tigers are aware of a bio-security matter at training today involving co-captain Benji Marshall.

Marshall was involved in a social distancing matter with an accredited reporter, which was immediately reported to the NRL as per guidelines.

Under those guidelines, Marshall will remain at home tomorrow — which is a scheduled day off for Wests Tigers NRL squad — while the reporter undergoes a COVID-19 test.

Assuming a negative result is returned, no further action will be required by Marshall or Wests Tigers.

How has Grubs form been ordinary, he hasn’t played for a couple of months like everyone else who wasn’t in the 17. As for the message it sends, wow how wrong are you, Grub has played second fiddle to Benji the whole time he has been at the club, played plenty of reggies, Benji has never played reggies for us. And the money call is a joke, we have had highly paid players not getting picked for 2 years now. So you love BenjiI I get that, but he never was and at 35 never will be a strong leader and game manager. I don’t know about you but I am sick of our halves not being able to close out a game, we needed this to happen,Brooks is very lucky Walters didn’t take his spot too

Marshall is a better player and that is why Reynolds has played reggies. Reynolds is all about energy, not game management or being a strong leader. You need more skill as a 5/8 than being energetic.

Finally, he was beaten to the hooking role on the bench by Walters who is very unlucky to be dropped.

Can't it just be as simple as he dropped him because he felt he didn't play well? Seems strange to drop Marshall to put pressure on Brooks. If he wanted to do that wouldn't he have just dropped Brooks?

Nah gotta have a fun conspiracy about brooks cause he’s the worst player in the NRL. Dropping Benji because he’s directly let in 6 tries in 4 rounds definitely couldn’t be right

Well the simplest explanation is usually the best one, true. I was sort of hoping that by removing Marshall, and Marshalls controlling influence, and replacing him with Reynolds who is not a controlling influence Maguire is hoping to see just how much control Brooks takes. I'm probably overthinking it but there it is.

Well see on Saturday night but I think it may be a master stroke from Madge and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Benji dropping wasn't in consultation with the man himself. He stated on NRL he "was shocked and disappointed but also he needed to be better and said Maguire was brutally honest, "like he always is" and the veteran Kiwi recognises he did not meet expectations with his game management and defensive output."

We all saw that I would think...

Something needed to be done - it puts a rocket up everyone and as well all know even playing our best Raiders put one on us more often than not recently
I think BJ is up for a big one and a real big serve from Madge to me, JR will have point to prove and will add all of his mongrel and energy into the mix - addition of rowdy to start to me adds solidity (he is next to useless off the bench) and the bench has much more punch than usual.
I dunno, probably overthinking but I for one prefer changes after the pathetic capitulation on the weekend rathe than sticking with the same team but come Sat night, Madge will be a genius or as they say off with his head and on with a pumpkin..

We'll see.

Madge one smart cookie. He just doesn't want to ruin Benji's unbeaten record vs the Raiders...

I’d like to see a little more urgency from Adam Douehi when chasing offensive kicks. It appeared that many of the Tigers didn’t care enough to chase a game breaker kick in the final 2 minutes?

Hopefully the board can actually back Madge. Lucky Robbie isn’t at the club anymore otherwise it might be another Potter situation. Madge has the right attitude about changing the club that’s for sure

We’ll see what happens when the Golden boy is dropped as to the club’s reaction !

Hopefully we are best the days of letting players run the club but who knows!
