One of the top 5 playing today, but rugby league can be cruel. Taniela. If he can stay on game, and stay healthy, there is no doubt that he we go down as one of the very best. He will make more mistakes than someone like Andrew Johns ever could, and do things that he would never try. Don't change Benji. Keep me worrying and wondering.

And there is only one player in the entire world who could wear a powerband with something approaching credibility. That just about says it all.

I have watched football since the last year of unlimited tackle. I have watched so many talented footballers and i would rate Benji the equal of any and superior to most.He is the best thing that has happened to WT and gives the club one of the highest profiles in the NRL and for all the positive reasons and not negative ones.

Benji is the BEST thing to happen to the game fullstop.

He already is one of the all time greats! He doesn't need to have the nod from the so called experts. In my 40 + years of watching Rugby League, I have never seen anyone do what Benji can do on a football field. IMO, he is the most exciting and unpredictable player to have ever played the game!

I could not agree more…. I was only thinking about this the other day. I have been watching the game for a similar period to you, perhaps a little longer, and I have never seen anyone do what Benji does. I’ve seen a lot of greats but Benji is one of a kind. I am so glad he is a Wests Tiger.

i think league would suck if players like benji were not there. the more people like benji there are = more little benjis = more future benjis.

There is already an Australian Rugby League Hall of fame. They inducted players in from 2002-2007 then just stopped. I don't have a clue why. Yet another good reason why the IC needs to come in. Hopefully they will show a bit of respect for the past.

As for Immortals Benji should have at least another 8 years in him as a half by that time I dare say he would be one of the all time greats. Still induction should be at least 15 years after a player retires so it will be a long time before he is even considered.. if RLW ever decide to let Kiwi's be a part of it.

Beat me to it, here's the full list:
