Benji Marshall is set to LEAVE the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2017 to sign Cooper Cronk who i'm hearing is all but certain to leave the Melbourne Storm.
Dragons and Rabbitohs are after Cronk (Rabbitohs favourites) while the Penrith Panthers are interested in Benji Marshall.

Benji was an enigma. A once in a generation talent. Not as good as Joey, Loch, Thursty and Cronk yet on his day was capable of doing things those 4 could only dream of doing. Sometimes when he played we never looked like winning yet you couldn't rule out a miracle either. He made almost every game unmissable because the magic was ever present. That can't be taught.

However those days are few and far between now and our youngsters need to forge their own paths. I'd love to see Benji return to the club in some form but not as a player. If Taylor is all about structure then Marshal is the wrong fit. I feel sad to say this because he was instrumental in building this club. Maybe he can captain coach the 9's team next year….

Sometimes when he played we never looked like winning yet you could always rule out a miracle. He made almost every game unmissable because the errors was ever present. That can't be taught.

Thats cool, youre entitled to your opinion…even though it's wrong.

2-3 good years out of his career at WT. If what I stated was wrong then I don't want to be right.

Bringing Benji back would be an all time shocker.

As time goes on some of the bitterness from the fall out subsides. Its easier to respect him as an all time club legend.

However to go back would be a romantic story with no substance behind it.
