Marshall wants the Wests Tigers to retain Tim Sheens

Blanket media ban next year please. Sick of hearing the tripe week in, week out.

Shut up and deliver for a change fellas.

People on here have laughed in the past how Darius Boyd follows Bennett around like a lost puppy, Darius has nothing on this clown. I'm starting to really resent the guy cos his actions over the last couple of yrs have shown that Sheens is the only thing keeping him here, not the love of the club

The thing that sticks out with me is how embarrassing the way he carried himself when Sheens almost signed with Penrith last yr. Was like a 6 yr old sulking about his parents leaving him at home with a babysitter. Wouldn't surprise me if literally got down on his knees, wrapped his arms round Sheens leg and cried like a baby for him to stay

He could kiss him for all I care - that doesn't bother me - its rookie mistakes that have plagued Benji thus far in his career and why isn't it being addressed? Is their personal life affecting their professional life?

We re all, for the most part, more than a little disillusioned about the going on in recent times.

i would ask however that people show a little bit of restraint when addressing players. They are people just like the rest of us and I think everyone in this circumstance is better served by rational discussion of the issues rather then resorting to taking broadsides at players character etc.

We have all done it from time to time so it is what it is in that regard but now is the time for serious discussion, reflection and thinking about what we as a fanbase want moving forward.

Throwing insults while understandable considering the passion we have for our side does nothing more then make people easily dismissable.

Just my thoughts

He has the support of the players which is a good thing, but is he leading them in the right direction? Debatable.

benji it is easy if you want sheens to stay then get out on the park with the rest of the girls and show us supporters than you can play football not boodly basketball, every easy done i would think mr marshall.

I actually will defend him in this instance. What is he meant to say? "It's time we moved Tim on". The guy who since he was a 17 year old has been a loyal friend and coach. I actually reckon deep down Marshall and quite a few of the senior blokes would love a change. However you don't want to publicly hang a coach you have worked with for a decade. They have a lot of respect for him and rightly so.Maybe in private there might be one or two conversations going on. I think Robbie Farah might lead the way.

It's vomit material for the fans after a bad season, however in this case I don't think he can say anything else. What gets me annoyed about him is when he babbles on about stepping up and then he doesn't and the team doesn't.

It's funny but any old Balmain fans like me could probably draw comparisons with the Jones years.

Alan had his favourites, he had a few guys that he treated specially like a father-son relationship.

He also struggled with instilling discipline in the team, didn't make enough players accountable, sent them out each game with only a thin game plan - "throw it around and let the ball get some air" he would tell them.

The Tigers struggled then, we are struggling now.

While I have no doubt that Tim is a much better rugby league coach why he has got away from the fundamentals has me baffled.

They are…

Discipline, good kicking game, enthusiastic kick-chase, good defence, targeting the oppositions weaknesses.

Or is it that Benji has so much power in the club that Tim just isn't allowed to try and point him away from this "jungle ball" style which just does not provide consistent results?

I agree with most of what you have said Eddie. We all like to blame the coach for the troubles of the team, and I guess the buck always stops with the person in charge, in this case Sheens.
I think they (the players) have become terribly complacent, it's like they are not taking the games seriously :crazy and it does make you mad when they keep saying they are going to aim up and they don't, and always blaming injuries for their woes (too many excuses)- other teams must have had injuries to key players too, but they still come out and win, why can't we :bulb:
I thought we had more depth this seaon too, but it appears we haven't, hopefully next season, as I think our season is definitely gone, we would need a major miracle to get in to the 8, and I don't think we deserve it this year anyway :deadhorse:

What do you expect him to say?
Sheens is still coach… going against the coach while he still at the helm is wrong on all accounts.

if he gets dumped and we get someone else Benji will come out and give his full support (in front of the media) to the new coach....

The problem is that no matter how bad they perform they will not get dropped for the following week . Which means the no care attitude kicks in .

I got excited when i started reading 'Benji wants Sheens dumped",but alas,it was not to be.

I can imagine all the players would want Sheens to stay. Hell, if I was Adam Blair, I'd be loving life at the moment. Go out on the field and jog around for 80 mins and know that my spot in the team in never under question. Other coaches this year have had the cajones to drop out of form 'superstars'. Kearney dropped Sandow, Cleary dropped Jennings, Maguire dropped Isaac Luke (whose form wasn't even that bad, its just Peats was playing better), and now Iro has benched Maloney and said sayonara to Johnson. Our players would actually have to put in week in week out if they didn't want their reputations tarnished. We couldn't have that now, could we?
