Did anyone see the Doggies game? How did he go, all I heard was negatives and that he dropped the ball on his first touch…Thanks guys!

Here are the stats from the game.
http://thescore.com.au/matches/nrl/match23381.html

As mentioned, he only got 5mins, made 3 runs for 21m and 1 offload.
5 tackles and 1 error.

I hope he gets 5 minutes every game for the remainder of the season …he will be nice and fresh for 2014

If anyone has watched him in Reggie's this year.
He is a class act, really a signing I can't complain about in anyway!

I am extremely pleased with Tapau coming on board. When he was playing in first grade earlier in the year he looked a beast. Big, talented and now he's hungry for minutes. For those who haven't seen him play, you might see him as a young, raw version of Asotasi. He could be anything.
Make no mistake - Tapau is an astute signing and a feather in the cap of our recruitment team. Great stuff.

Wasn't this his first game? How would anyone have seen him in Reggies? You mean last year?

T-bone you are thinking of Gavet. Taupau has been playing all year. In and out of firsts as well.

He was very good against the Tigers in reggies.

seen him in reggies a few games and you can tell he has the goods. he is on the outter with the doggies because he signed with us, otherwise he'd be coming of the bench regularly for them (if not pushing for a starting spot), so it may explain under performance in some of his games this season.

from all the comments that i saw when we signed him, seemed like he has huge potential, something maybe des couldn't extract out of him. big ask for potter to do so with him.

He is such an awesome player and impacts the game hugely.

But why do we still hear talks about getting front row forwards (ie weyman and FPN(even though he didn't sign)) we have Blair Galloway and woods for experience Buchanan Ava and now tapau for inexperience.. I feel our front row is big with Keithys return.

Will potter be looking to move one of these guys to a wrecking back back rower ? Tapau? Blair?

Thanks Southern. Right you are. I was thinking of Gavet. I even saw him play once or twice come to think of it

Anybody else watch the doggies game yesterday arvo? Kapow got a run another run off the bench late in the game. Didn't get his first touch until the 71st minute, but he was dynamite. With the game truly done and won (32-0 when he came on), he played with zero preservation. Kid is the goods. Runs hard, terrific footwork, bends the line.

6 runs for 86 metres. Not bad. Thats more than Eastwood made in 40 minutes.. and more than what Tony Williams made in the full 80.

I watched Taupau start up front for the dogs in the early rounds when Graham was sitting out his suspension and Kasiano was injured. I liked the look of him and thought he was the type of player the club should sign.

Gavet is the same type of player, glad to hear he ripped and teared in his first game back from a long layoff. Him and Taupau should offer plenty of mongrel and punch for us next year.

Woods, Keefy, Blair, Buchanan, Ava, Taupau, Gavet and further down the line Brown, Fiagatusa and Graham have come along well this season. It'll be nice having some depth in the front row next season - we'll need it with our luck with injuries.

After watching him yesterday ,wondering if we could use him as a second rower

Could be the answer for our big man with strength and speed

He did look pretty good out wide when they spread the ball on the kickoff after Barba's try. He looked more like a big centre. At 110kg he moves across the park really quickly, great acceleration off the mark and nifty footwork.

He looked very powerful against the storm didn't he? It's hard to judge because he only played around 15 mins, and it was an open game with a one sided score line by then, but he looked really good. He could turn out to be our best forward signing since gareth Ellis (albeit he wouldnt have a great deal of competition)
