We have worked so hard on the Tigers brand to the point where we have handed one of our best prospects in Rob Lui to a rival club (Prior to any conviction etc…..).

As always , if we getting value for money ( and cap space occupied ) it is a good deal .

Even at his weakest Willie is great player . So as I fan I want Willie mason the player in orange in black

The real questions are :
1\. Will Willie behave himself ?
2\. can Sheens and WTs instill a desire in Willie to behave and play well ?
3 is there a sum of money which will satisfy both Willies and Wests ?

I think the answers are , no , yes and no

As much as I think Mason is an absolute tool, I also think that he can still be a great player and we would benefit from him on the field. Unfortunately for me, on field success is more important than employing a jerk, so I am all for signing (provided he is on the cheap).

Even if he were a complete angel both on and off the field (doubtful) in his time at the club, the media would be following him like a bad smell, waiting for him to slip up. this exposes all of the tigers players to unnecessary media attention which turns minor indiscretions into back page news. The scandal with benji and fultons missus shows that the media is only barely above blatantly making up news and Willie mason in a tigers jersey would be too good for the telegraph to resist. This really feels like a signing we would have made ten years ago doesn't it?

On the positive side , his experience would be nice in the front row due to Gibbs and Payten leaving us with a very green front row .
On the negative side, his off-feild antics would be a worry but I cant see Sheeens giving any any leeway at all. One strick and he would be out.

Sign him up for a year, 100% sure he will behave the first year, then regardless of his performances, spit him out in 2013, when Begovich, BMM etc. will take over.
Tools like him only need to be used, they don't need polishing and cleaning. Use em, then when their work is done, throw em out.
