Whoever is responsible for signing Cashmere ahead of him should be ashamed.

We really missed out on what would have been a super signing. Hungry, fit, aggressive and would have added much needed strike power off the bench. He would have been perfect.

Cashmere makes him look like Blocker/Webke/ Lazarus all rolled into one….what another dud decision by this club

Don't worry Hybrid

A month of Sheens would of sorted all the positives that Mason would of brought us

Well, can you really say he would have possessed the same attitude under Sheens? Has he really gone that well ALL season.

I dunno. Still can't say I care to have him at the Tigers.

Cheers

Thats a good question….he wouldnt b e in the 'group'..would he?
Sheens wpouldve more likely had him playing for BRET for half the time, sucked the enthusiasm out of him

That said, Mason at Knights is 100 x the player Cashy here is....its all we can go on

It's no use speculating how he could have gone here. The truth is that someone took him on and has extracted the right attitude out of a supposedly untamed player. We were in the box seat and pussed out and now we can only sit here and wonder what could have been.

Dear WT management and sponsors, ol' Willie has been a right handful for the Knights this year, hasn't he?

Well he hasn't taken up the option he has yet with the Knights for 2013 (unless something has happened in the last few days )

Maybe 4th time lucky (or not)

So many experts in hindsight. One thing you guys have failed to point out, that the sponsors where against it, no the WT hire and fire brigade.

I never blamed the hire and fire brigade.

The sponsors who didn't want Mason are idiots, as is anybody who didn't want him at the club. To pass on a chance to sign a player with his ability and experience in a position we lack depth in is criminal.

Hindsight? if you go back and read the Mason thread before he signed with Newy, its more like ''I told you so''

I must admit I fell in this category at first , but when I saw a few games (and the light) we should of signed him

Can't change anything now , we gotta show up at the wedding with the bride we picked now

hindsight is a wonderful thing.
i remember a whole heap of folk on here suggesting they would hate him to be a tiger.

Mason ? I say thanks, but no thanks
What do we say to our players ? Effectively, we say: no thanks, and again look elsewhere ? :crazy
Again, we first keep looking outside our own backyard ? :wtf :bash :deadhorse: :brick: :crazy

What an encouragement for our NYC and BRET players :frowning:

Thats right.

At the time he was a 32 year old basket case who had barely played in the last 18 months, couldn't hack it in union, and was basically toxic to any club he had played at over his entire career barring his 12 months at Cowboys.

His good form at Knights was not something you could bank on. They took a chance and it paid off.

Name 1 player who has stepped up and made a name for himself in place of Mason from NYC and BRET since we turned our back on him that justifies our decison? infact, name one player from those two sides that has been given a chance?

His time at the Cowboys proved he never was a basket case, that was nothing more than media garbage.

Mason's only crime is that he is a bit of a drop kick, yet he seems to get endlessly crucified for it. The worst thing he's done in recent memory is take a leak in an alleyway after a night out.

He has always been a very good player and given the low cost to sign him, it was really a no brainier by the Knights.
