Oh and Moses is off contract a year before Brooks…

Who cares about Manly...

neh

Wests Tigers is pleased to announce the re-signing of three of the game’s brightest young prospects and the return of a favourite son.

The Club has secured the services for the next four years of talented 18-year-old halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses from 2014 and NSW Cup hooker Joel Luani on a two-year deal. Wests Tigers welcome ‘home’ experienced utility Dene Halatau for the next two years.

Head Coach Mick Potter said Brooks and Moses were very good prospects and just two of the many talented youngsters coming through the Club.

Yep we will look to lock most of them up by end of '16\. One or two may want to test themselves on the open market.

They will extend them if wanted well before their contract ends,so they don't have a Manly situation,Taylor and Moss are too smart for that.

Agreed 851.

Lodge seems to be in for a big year , God his a whopper of a kid live at a game and to think his only a PUP ? has me excited for what lies ahead.

Great news to have this monster signed up for the foreseeable future!

Re contracts: Perhaps we should have only signed everyone to 2 year deals? That would have fixed the problem…! Oh wait....

At the moment we have 5 older players. All playing 1st's for about 10 seasons already. Then we have a heap of youth.
I think in a few years time we'll be in a pretty good position to hold onto the majority of our youth that are playing 1st's now.

Watched Lodge play live for the first time in R1\. I thought he was very good and certainly looked like a player we want to hold on to.

Lodge is a fantastic talent, nice to know he's locked in for a few years just hope he keeps his head off the feild. Looking good for front row options moving forward.

We are getting better with the TPA's

Don't panic Milky

He's a grub, and we've needed one for years. I used to have the mentality that you should have choirboys on the pitch but over the years I've come to see that you need that one (or two,) bloke(s) who push the boundaries, rough up the opposition and draw their ire. Plus most other teams have a grub and get away with blue murder so why can't we?

Agree completely. The rules of league encourage grubs. The non-suspension of Beau Scott is a testament to this.

The added benefit we have is Lodge is surrounded by senior players who will hopefull ensure he doesnt cross that line in the field from plain ild grubbery to soenthing worse.

"Grub" is such an individual call.

Reynolds, Ennis and so on easily fit my call as "grubs", but I find it hard to ever call one of our own a "grub".

When talking Grub's you have to distinguish between "on Field" and "Off Field" Grubs.
I think Lodge is more your "off field" grab. I haven't seen too many on field grubby episodes.
Although i'm sure he can develop into grub as well. Like Reynolds, he is a dual grub.

here's some "on" field grubs
Ennis - "on Field grub" - quite sensible and articulate "off field"
Adam Blair - "on Field grub"- nice guy off field.
Slater

here's some "off" field grubs
John Sutton
Logde

Dual Grubs
Paul Gallen
Greg Bird
Reynolds
