Matt Groat - Bring him back

Groat should have been there last week instead of Spence.
But Potter's backward way of thinking is probably to bring Groat back against Te'o rather than give him a taste last week and get his confidence up.

Sharks forward pack aren't exactly cream puffs, either he is ready or hes not. There is no benefit of "getting his confidence up" just for Souths.

Surely Groat will come into the side with Woods being out!?

Against the Raiders? Either Groat or Spence, although I'd go with size in this one and give Groat a run off the bench and start Ava.

He is looking huge,

But seems to stop before the line, rather then hit at full speed, hope its not a side effect of the hit put on him!

He has a few mobility issues in defences, but couldn't be much worse, then some of the problems we have now.

I'd say Buchanan will be starting along with Blair. Groat might get a run on the bench but we have Fulton/Thompson on the cusp of returning plus some other guys going well.

Groat probably can't get a run now because of the tier 2 salary cap especially as spence, Akoula , fallow have played first grade so we have options who are already in the 2nd tier cap while groat hasn't yet

Groat would be part of our top 25 squad though wouldn't he? He shouldn't be restricted by tier 2 issues.

He didn't exactly set the world on
Fire yesterday. I thought he looked quite slow. Defensively OK tho

Make up your mind people, is it a yes or a No for Groat. I'm in QLD so don't see the lower grades so am only going on the information on this site. If he's up to it, he should be on the bench, if not, don't bother till he's ready.

If Groat is struggling to keep pace with Reggies I can see why Potter is reluctant to use him,…

He had a quiet game Saturday.

Has been carrying the pack with monster minutes for over a month and doing it well.

Would be happy to see him step up to the NRL

I haven't seen him play since Teo ironed him out. At the time I didn't think he was up to FG. Maybe I was wrong but he would have to improve a lot IMHO

Seems to have inherited Heighnington's soft shoe shuffle for mine.

Agree completely,

Think teo knocked it in to him!

Yeah I think that is a psychological wash up from being belted by Te'o. He's pensive just before he hits the line.
