Matt Groat

I'm happy to keep Groat in the side for the semis. I think he has proven his worth in his first five first grade games.

He did a few things that were undisciplined in his earlier games and gave away a few penalties but I really feel that he is working out well in the first grade side.

The kid also has enormous potential. He's set to be a real star in the years to come

Great prospect. Shuts down the centre of the ruck with his defence. Is running straight and hard. Has not been given permission to show his unloading skills yet. Watch out when he does.

Yeah with his bulk he is going to be hard to shut down once he gets the nod he can pass in traffic.

He is very mobile for a big unit ,his work rate is far superior to Fafita .Seems to be taking it in his stride no complaints if Sheens persists with him.

he has the same presence as any other forward in the team and his ball and man tackles are a one man effort. watch and wonder, before too long , the call will come. "groat is great".

I think Groat will get sent back to the NYC for 1 game.. I may be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that you have to play a certain amount of games during the year to be eligible to play finals in the NYC comp.. If this is the case, I think the Tigers committee will cover both bases and send him back for a game to qualify in case the 20's go all the way and the 1st's don't..

The first grade team always comes first. If Sheens feels its in the best interests of first grade to keep him there, then thats what he'll do.

Looks like a great kid; runs hard, good defender. A big off-season with first grade and he could be anything next year. Keen to see this rumoured off-load too.
