Mim 6-8 weeks but being a Dragons player will probably get 3 weeks, about time someone was sent off for a high shot.

5 weeks is very soft based on the judiciaries stance this year… Must be Origin time?!

Yep If it was a Qlder he would of been back the week after SOO finishes

Not that it would matter We have heaps of talent to choose from

Just so I am clear is Watto the rat and I'm the filth or vice versa ??

We take pride along with Stryker to see who can get under you Mexican's skins the most

Well it was a 7 week penalty but clean record and early plea bought it down to 5

Actually Smeg it was 7 weeks down to 5 weeks due to the fact it was a Qld player being hit :rant

My point would be its happens in a GF what then ?? He actually doesn't start to cock the elbow until Thurston is about to pass

5 weeks , what a joke If it was Les Boyd he would of got 12-18 mths Who cares about prior records

What you send a bloke a text and say sorry and thats ok

If you or I are walking down the street belt a bloke for no reason , say sorry to the bloke , and then we aregue in court we don't have a prior record should we get a shorter sentence Short answer NO

Prior should of got the highest rating reckless and be on the sidelines for 12 weeks

I am saying he does get the same punishment in the same circumstance in terms of guilty plea and clean sheet.

Losing a player makes it much harder to hold a concerted defensive structure and that can cost you games. It adds that extra fraction of pressure to every pass, run & tackle

Grade 5 striking carries 525 points. With his 50 carryover that would be 575 and have him gone for 5 games.
They gave him 7 games and reduced it by two fo the reasons already mentioned. So he actually got above "the highest rating reckless".

The point I am trying to make is that this

These punishmenst for the big games aren't good enough with the current playing conditions

I'll give you an example

Tigers v Manly GF

Glen Stewart cocks an elbow early in the game and breaks either Robbie Farah or Benji Marshall jaw

Stewart gets sent off

Due to the fact you have 10 interchanges coping with 12 players on the field in this day and age is pretty manageable

Us losing Robbie or Benji is absolutely devastating as the players that can take advantage of the extra player are gone

Do you see my point . We need to come up with a more brutal on field punishment for the team that commits the offence

I respectfully disagree with that. It is much more of a punishment in today's game than ever before. Look at teams that lose a player from their forward rotation early with injury. Down to three on the bench and they struggle at the back end. That effect is multiplied if they are down a man on the field also.

The send off is immediate punishment enough. The suspension that follows is another story.

I agree, and this is only a suggestion:

take away any points they have scored during the game.

so if at time of offence score is 18-16, your way, a player from your team is sent off , the score automatically become 16-0 in favour of opposition.
if your team who score is now nil, does win the game they do not get the two competition points, also for their points for/against, they get nothing for and double amount against.

may look harsh and bit over the top, but as soon as it happens once, be suprised if it happens again.
