There are reports former rugby league player Matt Seers has been arrested and charged with supplying cocaine on the Gold Coast.

The 40-year-old played for the North Sydney Bears (1993-1999) and Wests Tigers (2000-2002\. He also played for Origins for NSW.

It's understood he has been given bail and will have his case heard in the Southport Magistrates Court on February 10.

Queensland Police said he was charged with “15 counts of supplying a dangerous drug and one count of trafficking a dangerous drug”.

This comes after news last week that former Origin and NRL player Jason Smith was charged with trafficking cocaine in South-East Queensland.

He wouldn't be related to Craig Field Would he?
These idiots have never had a proper job in there lives.

Well, Seers lived at Chinderah, about a stones throw from Kingscliff where Field blindsided a bloke and killed him.

Ink,do any of these guys ever learn, everyday it seems an ex NRL player is either dealing drugs, bashing women or king hitting someone just for the sake of it…

Surely they would of got over being hard, tough footballers after their careers finished and would want to settle down to another job after league.Setting a good example and maybe teaching the children who want to play league would give them some sort of satisfaction after being on the big stage, rather than rubbishing their name by doing these low acts...

We have said before,if they need help then there is no shame in asking, and there is an abundance of help out there...sometimes you have to face reality and admit to having a problem,it makes a person of you....

A mate who I grew up with ended up at St Gregs back in the day on a league scholarship and was friends with Seers who was also there. He said Seers was just about as dimwitted as Forrest Gump.
