Matt Utai

He was pretty good in 2011/12, especially considering he would have been playing for a coke and a pie after the game. Definitely should have retired at the end of 2012 though, was mostly terrible this year.

Will remember him getting our sets off to a great start in most of his games for us.

Utai's liability under the high ball during his stint with us was very much overstated. Yes its a weakness, but people act like he was constantly getting peppered and single handedly costing us games.

He DID single-handedly cost us games.

I cant believe no one has mentioned his complete inability to tackle??? one of the worst defenders I have ever seen on a football field.

Not to mention his terrible hands, good for a few dropped balls & Knock-ons a game and couple that with the fact he couldn't take a high ball and a few tries were a certainty down his side of the field every game.

Hell it was so obvious he was being targeted in his last few games that the opposition was practically cerebrating as soon as the ball went wide on his side.

I admit he filled a role for us in the first few games he came back but once the other teams worked him out again he was largely ineffective.

Utai is one of those classic confidence players. The second he made a mistake he fell apart.

Like many of our Tigers player they rely on confidence

Moltzen could quite easily be put in the same mould as Utai , except Utai hit the ball up like his life depended on it

Can't believe people are calling for Moltzen to play 6

I actually saw him playing in the Australian Oz Tag comps in Coffs Harbour. Jeez he was good…

Former Bulldog and Wests Tigers winger Matt Utai has been shot, this is breaking news so details are scarce.

If anyone has any updates please 🙏 let all of us on the Forum know. I'm sure many of us were big fans of his.

I hope Matt is not in a life threatening situation and that he has a speedy recovery and that the shooter is caught and faces justice.

Got to love how the media cant get enough of the Tigers. The bloke is a dogs player that took a retirement cheque from the Tigers, played 75% of his games for the doggies and yet the first 3 articles I saw of him this morning advertised 'shooting' along with a picture of him in a Tigers jersey. Good god the Tigers get clicks.

Theyre saying a family member was the target...not him
His son has been getting caught up with the Alameddine stuff & was likely the intended target... unfortunately people who get involved in that sort of stuff have no consideration they are indirectly involving family members by doing what they're doing. Today his son learned that the hard way.

Would like punishments to be:

Cancelled passports if dual citizen
Deportation if above
Gang activity to be prosecuted under domestic terrorism legislation.
Big sentences with big restrictions on provelages once inside

Enough is enough.
