Matt Utai positives = runs strong as a bull when we have the ball. Big plus.

Matt Utai negatives = terrible reader of the defense, gets caught out all the time. Offers very little finishing skills, offers nothing off bombs, rarely scores tries, very casual at times diving on loose balls, lacks genuine pace.

Tell me if I am wrong fellas, but Utai's negatives MASSIVELY outweight his one positive…......he's a massive, massive liability.

I admire the way the bloke runs like a truck at the defense, but it's literally ALL he does well. In every other aspect he's not even close to being an NRL standard winger.

Dragons have no winger this half. We need to go to Utai and just tell him to run, run, run at their makeshift winger all half. It's all he does, so we need to ride the bull.

A lot of us had doubts over Utai's defensive positioning and ability at the start of the season, but most sides have largely ignored him and he has been untested. Teams like the Dragons though rarely fail to exploit weaknesses in other teams and they've shown Utai up today.

He was very, very poor at reading the defense today.

He got let off in the second half because Morris was off and Saints were messed up. Good teams will make him pay when it counts unfortunately.

To his credit he also played the last 20 or so under extreme difficulties - looked in a lot of pain but still took the ball up and did what he had to do. Would rather Utai over Ryan and Browne - they are also very slow.

Not anymore, it seems fate has dealt Utai a massive blow with him having broken his arm.
