If Mbye moves on, I’d seriously consider giving this guy the captaincy.

The next step after moving Mbye to centre should be appointing Matterson as captain. Impressive player with a fantastic attitude. He should be signed for a very long time.

That's pretty fair. If he's only here for one contract, it cheapens his output during that contract. Taupau was huge for us and he's almost forgotten. I think its important for us to be a top 8 side to retain him. If we struggle like we have done for the last decade, there's not much incentive for him to stay. That's why I'd give him the captaincy. Gives him ownership of the side.
