That's fine but putting great coaches down based on your opinion is not cool.

Especially when your likely a keyboard warrior and done nothing in comparison
No one on here has played nearly 200 games, won Dally M halfback of the year etc. But that doesn’t stop people from giving their opinion on the halfback. None of us are premiership winning coaches like Madge, yet a large majority want him gone.

Watched the interview at lunch today. It really reminded me how much of a footy man Tim Sheens is.

He's up there with guys like Gus Gould and Wayne Bennett. All know the game and the people involved, inside out.

I think we're pretty lucky to have him at the club and he'll give us the best chance of success.

the more I hear from Sheens the more I think that we're going to have a coach sooner rather than later that is cut from the same cloth. don't be surprised if Todd Payten or John Morris turn up here. disciplinarians don't work at Wests Tigers.
That’s my point also.

If we are to re inject the one culture that worked at the Tigers it would be to remodel what worked in the years prior to 05.

For mine Todd Payten is the one.

Sheens’ Protégé you could say.

Saw Sheens on Monday...

Went in the coaches box and didn't come out till both games had ended.

He's definitely a footy man and has some good stories.
Could listen to him for hours.

He's already pulling some strings behind the scenes, hoping it continues and we finally become the powerhouse club we're destined to be.

Good interview, good to see that Sheens still seems sharp enough. Was a little worried when they first signed him again tbh.

Gym looks good too, better than I’d imagined. Kept picturing demountables and a random collection of rusty equipment

I dont know the answer to this, that's why i am asking...
Was Sheens the catalyst our demise ?
Did he miss mange the contracts of Benji and Farah and the did he have the big 4 contracts all expiring at the same time?
With the benefit of hindsight we should have kept Andrew fifita he would still be improvement in our current pack.
Also we should have focused on retaining Tedesco offer him big bucks, maybe if we were still playing finals he would have stayed.
Moses always wanted to be the man calling the calling the shots. So we should have let him go.
Then with Brooks who knows if he would have flourished if Sheens coached him for longer.
But the one thing for sure if we had Tedesco, Benji, Farah, Fifita, Gareth Ellis, the fox all of sudden there is less pressure on Brooks and maybe he would have lived up to his expectations.
Would have Sheens turned it around our would we have still turned to shit.??

promised wouldn'tsay his name again.there is a great x fullback cutting his teeth in England

unsure, truth always comes out..?We won a comp massively under the cap,Cronulla still laugh at us,they only wanted Gibbs, basically busted, asked 4 Fafita as a joke,so the story goes.all the rest is here say, personally think the club was poor ,as was managemant, after all the BS in media back then, suprised Benjiman Quentin,Wobbie n Tim can work 2gether,Answer 2 your q,shite ,no money, simples

The equivalent of arguing for Warren Ryan in 05 because he took Balmain to a gf in 1989. The same amount of time has passed. A year longer actually. Sheens has done a lot of good for this club, more than anyone probably, but the role his in now is the appropriate role.
He will be coaching the Tigers again this year even if its only for a few games but I think he will coach again for the next 2 and a half years I don't see it any other way that's why he is staying away at the moment doesn't want to be in the poo with Madge

Other wise he would be in there helping more

I feel there were a number of factors. It was a bit of Swis cheese wheel scenario.
In fighting between the two joint venture owners. Sheens contract renewal attracted a lot of publicity and criticism. Marshall’s inability to play consistently, being tagged an entertaining team but never a serious contender.
Odd how the club made a decision that something had to change 1 year into a 4 year contract and after a poorer than expected start comparatively to previous years.
But the recruitment that year was poor. Anasta, Blair, Matt Utai the year before.
There is a theory that whilst having a bad run in 2012, Sheens was working away on preparing the next blood of the Tigers and was in the process of transitioning through to the new generation.
We had Tedesco do his ACL in his first match who was meant to be our long term fullback.
So many factors that just tipped the iceberg.
In hindsight would we have been better off sticking with Sheens?

Congratulations, you've stumbled upon the real reason for Sheens being back. It was to re-arrange the gym equipment.

But on a serious note, I don't know about anyone else but I thought that was a great interview and would have liked it to go on a lot longer than it did.

As a long time Tigers supporter I've always thought it was fascinating how Sheens had an involvement in the 1989 Grand Final that caused so much heart break for Tigers supporters only to come back 16 years later to win one for the Tigers and in some way make amends for the suffering that many Tigers supporters had gone through.

Having Sheens back at the Tigers some how feels right to me whatever his role may be.
