What happens when WA form their own country after a sook over GST?

:laughing: If what I read is true NSW get ripped off the worst with GST redistribution. When are we seceding?

Whenever you like CB and then Qld can declare war on NSW and really own your butts :wink:

At the risk of sounding like a broken record. Yeah great! bring it over here. I'll then get to see 3 years of tigers home games before they disintegrate into dust. You blokes that have this fascination about expanding the code over here are absolutely off with the pixies. The public hates the game, it's supporters and anything positive that comes out of the game. They adore all the crap that spews out of the NRL from drunken nights on the town to alleged sexual assault and violence,people pi55ing in their own mouths to home made sex tapes, the media steadfastly refuses to promote the game in any way, shape or form to the point where the grand final highlights shown on the news is perhaps the final moment of one try put down in the game and maybe the raising of the trophy. If there is ever a move on the cards by Wests or Cronulla or whoever else, then they should go anywhere but here. Take it to people that are open to the game. People who love it. QLD or central coast are the only options really. You think VIC is AFL mad? Believe me, WA is every bit as obsessed as those knobs. I'd go as far as saying that they would even outdo them in the "crazies" stakes. I'd rather see them battle on in Sydney than die in this joint.

Hallelujah that's a relief to hear.
Let's never go there.

And when you've had your state of origin scud war, Victoria can come take over both of you…

Rather than relocate to Perth, I would rather the club disbanded. The mere thought of moving to Perth smacks of defeatism. The only correlation is the name Wests ….. which refers to Western Sydney not Western Australia. Nothing smart in that suggestion ..

The NRL,as myself and others have posted countless times,want a Team based in the Greater Western Sydney area,however there are people in the shadows that want it called the Magpies so who knows if the Tiger emblem may move in the years ahead.
Sirro. Snr. has said privately many times and publicly on his tour of the abandoned Balmain Leagues Club site that Balmain RLFC may end up folding out of this mess so who knows where that will leave the JV.

I am not saying I want the team to move to Perth.

Merely suggesting the NRL might see it that way (and have the power to act) if things continue down this current path.

Seriously, ignore anyone that claims or thinks the Magpies are coming back at NRL level - it's not happening.

Now, the NRL may push and support the club to play more in the greater west, but it will be Wests Tigers.

Lets hope your right but i'm not so sure from the Balmain side of things at least.

I doubt it would be on the horizon Eddie, the NRL will want to see how things can be improved with the board changes etc in the first place. That will take care of a few years and anything can happen in that time.

Don't get me wrong I hope it is not on the cards. I would find it hard to be attached to a team over team. However i would still follow them if they were called Wests Tigers. Im not advocating the move mearly raising the fact the NRL and any potential board, CEO might see it is a sensible move.

I just wonder we always seem to be struggling. 15 years and only a few have come good.

* Infighting
* No money
* Balmain is broke., Ctwn doesnt follow the team
* run down grounds and training base
* Can't attract players
* Struggling for sponsors
* Dwindling fan base
* Dwindling crowds

I know the wheel can turn and clubs have their ups and downs. However with the jam packed sydney market we seem to be always just making up the numbers. Someone will eventually get squeezed out and maybe the club that makes the move will benefit who knows.

We go to Perth, keep the same name and get the money and the sponsors rolling in. Some fans would stick tight (maybe i dunno?) and you would have a whole new base base over there.

I expect to be shot down, but maybe it is a sensible option if we continue to be a basket case and a poor struggler on and off the pitch.

Wouldnt surprise me.

I posted a few weeks back I wonder if the long term deal with ANZ is connected somehow with NRL delegates coming onto the board and a move to Perth.
Get the rusted on supporters attuned to the fact we play at ANZ, move to Perth and ensure each draw there is still at least four away games at ANZ for Sydney based WTs fans to attend.

I have posted before that I saw it as a possibility. I can't see the logic in it though.
Why any place would suddenly start supporting an imported brand and imported players is beyond my belief.
If there was a WA comp with some local players for a startup side and the only thing imported is the brand and maybe a coupe of big marquee players, then maybe.
But if 'wd' in Perth is right (and I suspect he is from my local experience up here) any league team is up against it for establishing a supporter base. AFL is just too strong.
I suppose the other possibility would be, some big dollar corporate (read mining company) wanting a local league team and willing to carry the sponsorship for a few years.

For people to think that relocation of a current Sydney team is not on, well, it's just wishful thinking. I hope we aren't on the move agenda but everyone at NRL headquarters KNOW that there are too many Sydney based teams.

I wouldn't say that we are favourites, personally I think Cronulla top that list at the moment, especially after ASADA. If we certainly don't perform better on & off field then we will be added to the short list.

To those that say that they will stop supporting the team if it is relocated then try living 1500 klms or more away and cheer them on now. We rarely get to games but we are still passionate.

Yes CQ, my neighbours can certainly tell when I'm watching the Tigers play even though it's half way across the country.

Glad you expect to be shot down. Bang!! Bang!!

If they go to Perth or anywhere else from their base they have lost me and I would think most of the supporters. Tigers supporters don't just follow a name - they follow their very being. Perth is not my being I'm afraid but obviously it is yours.

Anything is a possibility - although I doubt Perth is on the agenda.

I have always thought though, that the Magpie side have always been happy to see the Tiger side go under. However the repercussions are quite dire when you think of it.

If you have 2 Magpies, 2 Tigers and 3 NRL on the board. 4 against 3 wins against the NRL moving us to Perth or anywhere else; calling us the Wests Meercats or whatever.

If you have 2 Magpies, 2 Tigers that can't vote or No Tigers against the NRL?

God knows what they could end up doing - Gee Wizz they could even take the Magpie off the sleeve!!!!
