But Mayer could of ended this speculation this morning both on twitter and on the Footy Show live cross today

Why didn't he come out and say that Bulldog Retard is full of crap and then come out and support Potter and the club instead of having Liam on the live cross on the Sunday Footy Show

Sends a strong and positive message from a supposedly strong and positive CEO and then the club can focus on winning football games

You are leader 24/7 not just when it suits your agenda and saves your continued pay check

Potter might not be getting a 2015 contract. And Mayer isn't the final word on whether he does or not.

Boil things down to the bear minimum here, we knew Potters future was being decided so this isn't a shock. We now get a story from the DT about how Potter was about to be sacked with Kidwell installed as interim, likely from our Thursday board meeting. Mayer makes a few tweets disparaging media noise and now we have had an early board meeting tonight to quash speculation and avoid a week long crapstorm.

Thats about the long and short of it.

So the players don't have a right to have a clear mind going into a game

LaT your an intelligent person

Imagine what thoughts were going through many of the rookies minds

What would a new coach mean to them ??

Possibly having your contract torn up because the new coach doesn't rate you

Possibly being forced to play a position you don't like

Being dumped into NSW Cup until your contract is up

These kids don't need this sort of crap going through their minds with one of the more important games of the season against a club that needed the victory even more badly than we did

Mayer doesn't decide whether or not a coach is sacked. The board does.

And the board just held a meeting tonight in order to confirm that Potter would see out the year, and a decision on 2015 would be made after our season had finished.

I didn't say he does have a say whether the coach does

But he could of provided some sound leadership for the club in a time of calamity for many

You don't think todays performance echoed what was going on off field

Disgraceful stuff from mr "look at me" Mayer

Big mouth talking rubbish all year but went to water the last few days with the coach under fire from all angles.

Today was hugely damaging day for everyone. And as CEO he has to take a fair slice of blame.

The club should not have been playing any of this out in the media. Someone leaked the contents of the Brian Smith review and we have been leaking like a sieve all week. It is no way to run a professional business. We look like idiots.

We need to find whoever is doing the leaking and remove them from the club.

We need a strong CEO to ensure it doesn't happen again. I'm unsure if Mayer is that man. I simply don't know, if he is part of the problem or the solution.

And, we need the same at board level. Strong independent directors who know how to run a professional business and who makes decisions for the good of the club, not out of self interest.

Either way the damage has already been done, say good bye to finals footy the board made sure of that (even tho none of us were expecting to play finals footy but we were in with a chance).
This is no way how a footy team should be run, we are the laughing stock of the NRL, they should be all ashamed!!
