Why didn't he come out and say that Bulldog Retard is full of crap and then come out and support Potter and the club instead of having Liam on the live cross on the Sunday Footy Show
Sends a strong and positive message from a supposedly strong and positive CEO and then the club can focus on winning football games
You are leader 24/7 not just when it suits your agenda and saves your continued pay check
Potter might not be getting a 2015 contract. And Mayer isn't the final word on whether he does or not.
Boil things down to the bear minimum here, we knew Potters future was being decided so this isn't a shock. We now get a story from the DT about how Potter was about to be sacked with Kidwell installed as interim, likely from our Thursday board meeting. Mayer makes a few tweets disparaging media noise and now we have had an early board meeting tonight to quash speculation and avoid a week long crapstorm.
Thats about the long and short of it.
So the players don't have a right to have a clear mind going into a game
LaT your an intelligent person
Imagine what thoughts were going through many of the rookies minds
What would a new coach mean to them ??
Possibly having your contract torn up because the new coach doesn't rate you
Possibly being forced to play a position you don't like
Being dumped into NSW Cup until your contract is up
These kids don't need this sort of crap going through their minds with one of the more important games of the season against a club that needed the victory even more badly than we did
Mayer doesn't decide whether or not a coach is sacked. The board does.
And the board just held a meeting tonight in order to confirm that Potter would see out the year, and a decision on 2015 would be made after our season had finished.
I didn't say he does have a say whether the coach does
But he could of provided some sound leadership for the club in a time of calamity for many
You don't think todays performance echoed what was going on off field
