Mbye to 6

Maybe it’s a smokescreen for Madden at 6? I don’t know why Madge would be moving AD though...

Tim Sheens for notorious for his smoke screens
AD seems to be the Robbie Farah Mould, do what it takes to win. The Passion

Im sure while he might be disappointed, he wont kick stones
I admire AD, he is what we need for our club to drive a better culture

Couple of outcomes to the current scenario

if lineup stays the same:
- they bomb hard and madge goes under even more pressure and scrutiny
- they do well and pressure relieved for the moment, however considering doueihi was one of madges best supporters, i see that relationship being slightly strained if hes taken out of 6 long term

if its a smokescreen:
- sanity prevails at the last minute and doueihi goes to 6, mbye to 13, then maybe they win or lose

main gripe for me, even without any other long standing thoughts on madge that i have, is that **its way too soon to be breaking up a halves combo**, they should be allowed to keep growing as its been seen that theyve been starting to gel. This constant chop and change in positions does nothing for the flow of the team, both in the halves and the forwards.

If he wants consistency, he should keep picking consistent lineups. The team is, relatively, still quite new. The spine has really just played 8 games together, two of those players have under 10 NRL games experience, and doueihi only has as many games as starting 5/8. Makes zero sense to disrupt that.

You don't think 2 & 7 is not long enough to make a determination that change is needed?

i think if we're happy to use that thinking, then we should dump the coach who is 20-30 since he started

If that put effort and determination into these blokes, then yes, but the players are not putting in, I don’t know why, but a change up was inevitable.

I think there will be a few again that won’t be here next season and some lucky they have long contracts.

Madge is now moving Doueihi from 6 to Center with Mbye moving to 6 to partner with Brooks.

A very strange move as many would agree Doueihi has been one of our best on field.

At first I was dead set against it. Doueihi was in form, why move him.

Yet I see the pro's:
Mbye Passes, a lot. Getting the Ball out a lot more.
He has speed.
He has energy.

The cons:
Mbye tends to speedhump in defense. Getting in a good positpion and not stopping rhe player. . Maybe a good reason to not put him at Center or Fullback.

Mbye does not direct a side. Passes a lot and follows the side.

Mbye rarely runs. IMHO a ball running 5/8 is good to have.

I see good pros with Doueihi at center. Can pass. Can Run. Can defend and were leaking tries. Moving Doueihi to center makes him the one who scores or the one to pass to score.

Still dont know about this change...

It's OK if you're the best in a winning side but unfortunately we all know what's been happening and Madge is looking at the options.I think Doueihi could be the perfect lock.On the weekend looks like Madden will get a start probably when Liddle gets a break Mbye to 9 MADDEN to 6.
Mbye's roll should be get the ball wide at every opportunity you give AD & JL every chance to run the ball hopefully AD will still be our best play if he can Douit at 6 he can Douit at 3.

Exactly . If madden performs as well as we all think , I reckon Mbye will head to the bench . Or brooks .

It’s definitely a smokescreen. I really don’t want Doueihi to turn into another Mbye where he can’t hold a position. He finally looked like he cemented a position, but he got shifted ?‍♂️

Mbye-- FB, centre, 5/8, 9,'; AD ,FB, centre, wing, 5/8.

Both suspect in defence, and both overated.

I don't think it is unfortunately, otherwise Mbye wouldn't have alluded to AD being disappointed with the move, surely.

“We were a little bit surprised. **Obviously Doueihi was disappointed with the swap, but he’s now taken it with both hands** and it’s a good opportunity to view the game from a different point and I’m sure he’ll be better for it.”

I mean the smokescreen will be Madden coming into the starting side.

My major concern with Mbye in any position is he looks to me like he’s simply marking time with us now. He is moving on and he may as well already have gone because his heart and effort are not in it. Listening to the interview with him on WTs app he sounded totally disinterested and unconvincing.
Problem for Madge is we have few realistic options at centre or at 5/8.
AD may well struggle defensively at centre especially if marking Best.

Well, maybe AD will struggle at Center.
But honestly I trust him there a lot more then BJ leilua and James Roberts.

AD wont struggle.

He optimises the new WT mindset that were after across the roster and the club

Its almost Madge conceding we shouldn't have let Benji go inmy opinion

??

Yeh, that flick pass really made clubs want to sign him long term ?
I think Bennet is the one conceding his run to the GF?

Hey if Benji gets Bennett and Souths to the Grand final. Who would complain?

Ah right. Yeah let's hope so. I'd actually like to see Brooks drop out though, maybe build some confidence in reserve grade and take the attention and pressure off him. Probably the best time to do it but I doubt he'd have been named in the starting side only to drop out.

Their opinions don't matter as much but Joey thinks 6 is Mbye's best position and Freddy thinks centre is Douehi's best position.

I'm disappointed that Mbye had one of his worst games for us last week and seems like he's been rewarded instead..

Whereas Douehi has been demoted despite being our best. In fact, I don't even see it as a better balance for our team with this move. Two left footed weak kickers at 6 and 7.

A better balance would've been Cini with Leilua and Talau with Noffa on the edges.

Selection defies belief. Seems like the only reason to do this is "let's change this up and see if gets them to work harder"... which again even if we end up winning, is a short term solution. Douehi is our long term 6, Simpkin is our long term 9 and Cini is in our best 17. Mbye is more than likely leaving next year, he shouldn't be in the spine.

Simpkin and Cini being dropped, if that’s what you want to call it, is fine, they are young and will be back. You are right about Doueihi. You’d assume he’s our long term 6. He’s not going be in the centre’s moving forward. It’s baffling.

If thats the case we are stuffed.
He is lazy in defense and robotic in attack.
Yes he has sparked us (when its too late we should note) he never chases hard and doesn’t show urgency to close on the attacker.

Read the other posts.

I didn't like the idea of moving our best player (AD) from 6....

Mbye works better with Brooks.
Doesn't rattle him into his shelf.

What's best for the team....
