Mbye

To add to my last post do you think Clubs targeting Mbye recently would pay 950k the reason they were after him is his contract is reasonable and they see upside away from the Tigers. Madge would have helped pack his bags before June 30 if the rumoured numbers were right.

@Goanna57 nope you can take the $950k a season to the bank. Dogs are still picking up $175k this season but next season you blokes are on your own. He will bleed you guys dry.

I think everyone has their wires crossed. Its 800k with the Dogs paying close to 175k of it . I can’t disclose what I know but the 950k a year is nonsense. You will find he’s on the books for circa 650k with the Tigers from next year.
His deal was back ended with the Dogs and extended at the Tigers. The Tigers didn’t then increase his already back ended contract. We are bad but not that bad. It’s borderline defamatory albeit to a snake.

It’s Either manager feeding BS to media or Dogs thinking Tigers increased his already backended contract to make another Sydney club look as inept as they were. Either way he is overpaid.

If playing at his best he would be worth that much. IF
I recon Madge has seen enough and he might move if he can find a suitor from next year on.

I agree Madge probably has to cop 50% of the likely 2.5-3.00m to move Mbye, Reynolds, Packer, Matulino, ET, McQueen on. If you have 1.5m he can bring in 5 solid young players that better suit his style.

Just make it an even 1 Million dollars and be done with it....

So ...1,000,000 divided by 24=$46.66k per game or $520.83 per minute lol

I thought I was a Baller 😎

@TYGA quite the fall going from being talked into the captaincy in pre-season to the coach being willing to pack your bags by June 30.

You can lead them to water I guess.

@momo_amp_medo hey I was just worried for you blokes.
I watched the game against Parra.
Worried that Mybe has his fangs into the jugular of your club and will suck the place dry.
That's all.

G'day @Russell: how is it that an obvious idiot supporter of the team coming last :white_frowning_face: ie the Poodles, can come on here spreading false information :skull_and_crossbones: with no other intention but to stir Our joint up. I assume there is a way of immediately banning :fist: him/her from further comment on Our Forum, cheers :relaxed:

Nothing stopping fans from other clubs joining up here. Trafford has done nothing wrong, got a clear issue with Mbye but hasn't done anything that has warranted a banning.

They can come here and share their info just like dozens of members here do that turn out to be wrong.

@TYGA you forgot Jennings 🤬

Go to give him a chance. First year and no offseason. He just looks unfit to me and runs like he knows he can’t take collision. He was signed in the remaining circa 275k we had spare due to the fine. At least he’s not on big coin. Solid Canterbury Cup player for Wests and cover for injuries. Must say I’m disappointed he looked the goods last year.

lacks effort, doesn’t want collision, reads numbers poorly in attack and defence and is a slow decision maker.

I don't really agree with any of this. He hits fairly hard IMO so I don't know what you mean about the collision, and this was proven doubly to me when he played Origin and was mostly tasked with defending.

I also don't see him beaten defending at centre, or making huge mistakes? Last week Eels peppered his LHS defence but for me Jennings was mostly the man caught in no-man's-land.

The thing for me is Mbye is competent to average in different aspects across the park. I'd hardly say he's poor at anything specific - it's reasonable first grade, often unexciting, standard. In that regard, I will not argue that he's not overpaid, because eventually we are paying him higher-end money (i.e. he was much better value when Dogs were taking more freight).

I understand people's frustration - that Mbye sometimes shows much better form, which isn't brought to that level every week. I don't think it's for fear of contact or being able to read the game, it just seems his intensity and concentration isn't equal week on week.

We see it differently and I was a fan of his. He got caught with the ball on attacking plays numerous times at fullback when all he had to do was hit the centre. Numerous feeble efforts defending the try line also. Played better at centre but you can’t have the highest paid player and captain turning up when he wants to has to be every week especially at centre. Hopefully I’m proved wrong but I reckon I’ve seen enough.

@MAGPIES1963 2nd last thanks, so have you always had this flat earth view of the world? The truth will always set you free you know and the truth is Mybe is a utility or a very average running five-eight with a fair market value of $450k.
Hey look he suckered us in even bigger than you!! But I don’t think even we would have been stupid enough to make him club captain. Having said that, he does break into top gear if he sees a media crew turn up to training so maybe that’s why Madge made him captain?
