Take over the payments? We would have been paying him around $800k a year to play for the Dragons, that is giving him away. I would love to play poker against you.

The Tigers would not have been paying $800,000, the NRL approves every contract & would not approve St George to pay less than minimum payments for a first grade player. The Tigers have already paid a large percentage of his contract as the league season is deemed to start on Nov 1

Sorry mate, but you need to think about how a contract would work?

If he was on $800k per season, we would pay an agreed amount (between us and the other party) and the other party would pay the balance to the value of $800k, between them and us, Mbye would not lose any money.

That said, I hope he stays now.

Exactly, what where I was coming from, a contract is a promise or an agreement where both parties receive something of similar value the Dragons would have to pay aamount the the NRL deemed was fair otherwise it would be a gift, which is non contractual

You seem to basing that on he fact we would just send him over there? Or are you thinking that our part of the payment would not count against the player in the Dragons salary cap? From my understanding, the Dragons cap would be the full amount, except they wouldn't be paying the full amount, and we would have his salary off our books, if that makes sense?
But hopefully @cochise, @Geo can confirm how it actually works?

What we pay stays on our cap, what Dragons pay goes on their cap,

It ain't rocket biology ......

Hey Happy, did rocket biology come from Wuhan China ?

Concord I believe .......more Sheenius

Again 17 blokes were below par ...but lets blame 2 or 3 of them

Domino effect. Especially if it’s an older player, rubs off on the rest of the team

Good luck for the future Moses.

“I live in Kogarah Bay in the heart of the St George area. My neighbours are Dragons fans. Even my daughter is a Dragons supporter, born in St George Hospital. Like the Tigers, the Dragons brand is one of the biggest in Australian sport. It’s a proud club that expects success. I’m excited to try and be part of their future.”

“When I met Anthony Griffin, I became excited to be part of their journey to find that success. I’ve learnt some valuable lessons at the Tigers that I will take with me, and hopefully there are good times ahead in the red V. There’s a lot to like about their roster, some good signings next year and some quality young kids.”

"I don’t know what position I am going to play. I know I’m going over there to be their Mr-Fix-It. I’m comfortable with that. In the modern game it’s a significant position having someone in your 17 that can cover three or four positions. That will be me at the Dragons next year."

God knows how he could enjoy having no idea what role he’s going to play.

The joy of being content just being in first grade and making up the numbers.
Glad he’s found a new home, good luck to him.
Hopefully we can keep eradicating that mentality from our club.

While earning 800k. Has no preferred position that he wants to make his own, or allow the club to build around their "marquee". What a joke

Good to see Mbye is at least consistent. His contribution today will be no different to what he has bought to the team throughout his contract.
