I've been his biggest critic and didn't want him anywhere near 1st grade but I must say he's been playing well for a few weeks now in that bench role.
I'm seriously surprised how he has impacted our play...in a positive way.

Hats off to him and I can't believe I'm saying this but he adds to our team and I don't think anyone else is as versatile.

I'd have no problem if they decided to hold onto him, but that price tag burns for a benchie.
I'm with a few others who would like to see him get a run at 7. He could at least match Brooks irrelevance.
He should have no problem finding another club if we flick him. Just gotta take a pay cut.
Back to the point though. I was wrong, he has something to offer😊
 
Mbye is a good player. Not worth what he’s on but we looked a LOT better when he came on. We’re a better team with him in it IMO.
 
I'm convinced now he's not a fullback, centre or hooker. Can fill there if desperate but he's a half. Got the dogs to a grand final at 7 didn't he? Plays well as a bench lock with new rules but I can't remember too well how he played when at 7 for the dogs. Does anyone recall why he was moved from 7
 
Bandwagon mentality largely directed at Mybe. People starting to watch what he does instead of just joining the chorus.

Good post TT and credit to you acknowledging your change of heart, many here arent that openminded.

I would love him to cop a pay cut and stay. Out of that batch of poor signings of him, Reynolds, Packer, Mbye has never shirked effort and even though obviously being shoved around to find a spot, always seems to put ego on the back burner and get on with it. He is proving his worth (a long way short of his pay cheque) to the club.

Dont agree with him at 7 though. Despite the hate here, Brooks is our best 7.
 
If AJ is out he's straight into the centres in preference to BJ. MBye's been solid this year. Maybe Liddle finds a spot on the bench as 14.

Its a no for me. I havent looked at stats, but I am very concerned how many opposition trys are scored through our middle. I cant put my finger on why, Id say its fatigue and poor poisitoning but IMO the last thing we need, particularly early, is another small body in the middle.

Because he was crap at 7 at the dogs. IMO he is a fullback but we have a better one. Bench then lock if no one else goes down is his role in this team.
 
I actually feel for Mbye.
At center he looked the goods but we grabbed BJ
He trained all pre season at fullback with a few external judges saying he looked brilliant and we grabbed Laurie 4 weeks before the season started

He is a mr fix it type player which every squad needs but the issue from us fans is what he earns. If he wasn’t appointed captain & was on $300k most fans would be fine with him. He does add value.
 
According to Hannah Hollis he has an LCL (Lateral Collateral Ligament) Injury.

Can someone confirm that an LCL is real and one of our staffers were not just taking the mickey out of her?

I've done my LCL, it isn't too bad. He should be fine to play (I hope, for once lol)

tbh i dont mind him as captain, its just the paycheck that concerns (which is reasonable for a mr fix it player)

I'd love to retain him if it was up to me but dear lord he needs a pay cut
