should he have dived on that ball with 3 minutes to go rather than slide, lose control of the balland give the steelers 6 more? Would neven have happended with Hodgo there! 😱pen_mouth:

I'm really glad this is his last season with us. Good luck to him in England. Looking forward to having a replacement that makes less errors and knows how to run the ball back strongly.

What he did was perfect. The fact the ball popped out was more due to the pace he attacked it at. That play saved a try.

With the second one, I thought and it looked pretty evident from all the tigers reactions that he was dudded. he put his body on the line for both plays and you cant ask for more than that.

BTW why bring hodgo up? i wonder whether Motlz would have attacked the ball in the same fashion.

I thought he was fine when he came on and put his body on the line. The ball he knocked on he had to attack at speed, there were two or three Dragons players bearing down on that grubber kick and given the circumstances, I thought the knock-on was understandable.

Still would have used Brown on the bench for his versatility but Mckinnon was ok in limited gametime.

anyone who wants to bag Mckinnon just remember, the only reason he was there at all was coz of Moltzen's incompetence in bombing a try and letting another 1 in

He's too slow chasing the ball. That's why he had limited options for keeping the ball away from the drags. Although Moltzen has problems in defense, he would probably have got to the ball earlier.
I've always liked McKinnon, but his speediest form is behind him.

in a few minutes was twice as effective as someone who should never be picked at fullback again

supported runners - as opposed to bombing tries
saved 2 tries (got done by the refs on the last call) - as opposed to letting tries in

Healthy debate is fine but lay off some of the individuals, his teammates sure appreciated his efforts!

But he is no better !!

like a wicket keeper with the gloves it was his job to catch that bomb that bounced in front of everyone.

having said that i like him at the back and really like his back up play - which moltzen doesn't seem to do as well. i also thought he did admirably in getting to the grubbers.

looking forward to hopefully having meaney get a crack come the start of next season.
