Wests Tigers produced an entertaining display to crush the Warriors 50-6 at Campbelltown Sports Stadium tonight in round 12 of the Telstra Premiership.

Centre Geoff Daniela, who secured a regular starting spot with centre Blake Ayshford injured a fortnight ago, scored three tries in the victory.

Wests Tigers opened the scoring when the ball was shifted right through Fitzhenry, Benji Marshall and Geoff Daniela for Ryan to dive over in the corner for a try in his 50th NRL game.

Marshall failed to convert from the sideline for a 4-0 lead after 10 minutes.

A drop ball on the second tackle from the re-start resulted in Warriors winger Kevin Locke racing down the right wing to score in the corner despite the cover tackle of Marshall. Video referee Steve Clark ruled Locke had put his foot on the line in Marshall's tackle to be denied a try.

Wests Tigers bombed a certain try in the 14th minute when the ball was spread left only to see centre Chris Lawrence spill the ball five metres from the line.

The Warriors opened their account in the 26th minute when half-back Brett Seymour beat the tackle of second-rower Gareth Ellis to offload an inside pass to five-eighth Joel Moon to score behind the poss. The pass did appear to go forward. Seymour converted the try to give the Warriors a 6-4 lead.

Wests Tigers regained the lead when from a scrum win, Marshall and Lawrence combined to send Tuqiri over in the left corner for an 8-6 lead. Marshall converted the try from the sideline for a 10-6 lead after 38 minutes. The try came after Farah put through a grubber kick which was knocked on under the posts by Warriors prop Jesse Royal.

From the kick-off and in the next set, Farah extended the lead to 14-6 when Farah put centre Geoff Daniela in open space. Daniela threw a dummy before turning the ball back inside for Farah to juggle it once before securing the ball to score near the posts.

Marshall converted the try to give Wests Tigers a 16-6 lead at half-time.

Second Half
Wests Tigers went on the attack insidethe Warriors quarter in the 43rd minute after Locke slipped and lost the ball forward in trying to pass to his full-back from a clearing kick.

A smart chip kick on the last tackle and good defence by Ryan saw the team get a repeat set from the ensuring set.

Wests Tigers capitalised on the extra posession when Daniela dived over in the right corner in the 45th minute. The try was referred to the video referee who awarded the try to give Wests Tigers a 20-6 lead.

Marshall converted the try from the sideline for a 22-6 lead after 46 minutes.

Daniela scored his second try in two minutes when he showed some fancy footwork to beat three defenders to dive over out wide. The try came off a twoering bomb by half-back Robert Lui which the Warriors allowed to bounce.Marshall knocked it back into the arms of Lui who found Farah before the ball was shifted to Daniela.

Marshall converted the try for a 28-6 lead after 50 minutes.

Daniela grabbed his hat-trick when Lui put Ellis into a gap before the international back-rower offloaded inside for Daniela to dive over. Marshall converted the try for a 34-6 lead.

Two minutes later, Lawrence beat a tackle out wide to find open space before stepping back inside to race away to score a 60 metre try for a 38-6 lead. Marshall converted the try for a 40-6 lead after 60 minutes.

It has been a huge 20 minutes with Wests Tigers piling on 24 points to keep the crowd of 10, 061 very much entertained.

Englishman Mark Flanagan scored his second NRL career try when a grubber kick by Farah saw winger Bill Tupou make an airswing at ther ball to miss it completely. Flanagan was on the spot to place his hands on the ball to score just metres from the dead ball line.
Marshall converted the try for a 46-6 lead with 12 minutes remaining.

The try came on the back of a huge run by lock Chris Heighington who split the defence to race 40 metres downfield to link up with Tuqiri.

Ellis left the field in the 75th minute to a standing ovation from Wests Tigers members and supporters in the western stand.

Wests Tigers cracked the half century when Tuqiri powered his way over to score in the corner to send the team and supporters into a frenzy. It was just a fortnight ago the team was beaten 50-10 by Souths at the SCG.

Marshall failed to convert the try for a 50-6 scoreline which remained that way until full-time.

The 44 point victory takes the Wests Tigers to 14 points. Wests Tigers now play the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium next Friday night.

TIGERS superstars Robbie Farah and Benji Marshall turned on the razzle dazzle against the Warriors last night - it was just a shame nobody in Campbelltown turned up to watch.

The Tigers returned to their attacking best to race in nine tries - exciting centre Geoff Daniela bagging a hat-trick - and blew their New Zealand rivals off the park 50-6.

The Tigers' second half was arguably one of the most entertaining of the season, but sadly it unfolded before a paltry 10,861 fans.

There was plenty of room to move inside Campbelltown Sports Stadium with almost two entire bays in the eastern stand completely empty.

Club officials would have been extra disappointed knowing the match was originally pencilled in for Leichhardt Oval, which would have drawn more than 15,000 fans on a Friday night.

Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys said the Origin hangover may have contributed to the lacklustre gate takings, but the future of Campbelltown was definitely safe.

Coach Tim Sheens wanted to repay fans after the 50-10 drubbing against Souths only a fortnight earlier.

"We owe the people down here a good game after our last few weeks. Robbie [Farah] and I sat and apologised two weeks ago [after the 50-10 Souths thrashing], so it's been nice to have two wins since then," he said.

"It's a Friday night, it could have rained, maybe people stayed at home to watch us on free-to-air TV. I know those who were here got good value."

Despite the poor showing in the Macarthur region, the Tigers are sure to put more bums on seats with similar performances this season.

Sheens said he was more pleased with his side's defensive effort rather than the half-century scoreline.

"That's two weeks in a row we've only had six points against us, and that's what you need after getting 50 scored on you … nobody takes you seriously if you give up easy points."

The first half was littered with handling errors and, except for a few moments of magic by Marshall - he set up a Tigers try and prevented a Warriors four-pointer in the space of two minutes - it did not roar to life until the 38th minute.

Warriors winger Kevin Locke was pulled up for a knock-on while trying to play the ball - replays proved it was a poor decision with Gareth Ellis pushing the winger over - and the Tigers packed the scrum in an excellent field position.

Lote Tuqiri scored immediately on the back of some slick passing from Marshall and Chris Lawrence before Farah and Daniela started and completed a 60m move to put the home side ahead 16-6 at the break.

It was the second stanza, however, when coach Tim Sheens men really stepped it up a gear and brought the Kiwi Warriors to a quicker halt than southwest-bound traffic cops at times on the M5 Motorway.

Daniela crossed for three tries in the 45th, 49th and 56th minutes to suddenly blow the scoreline wide open. Then Lawrence, Englishman Mark Flanagan and Tuqiri picked up a double to complete the rout.

WESTS TIGERS 50 (G Daniela 3 L Tuqiri 2 R Farah M Flanagan C Lawrence B Ryan tries B Marshall 7 goals) bt NZ WARRIORS 6 (J Moon try B Seymour goal) at Campbelltown Sports Stadium. Referee: Tony De Las Heras, Steve Lyons. Crowd: 10,861.

THEY might not be good all the time, and they might not be good for any supporter's health, but they are rarely not good to watch. A fortnight after conceding 50 points to South Sydney, Wests Tigers put the same amount on the team that beat the Rabbitohs last start. Go figure.

But that's the Tigers for you. Last night, they scored 36 points in a 23-minute period to belt the Warriors, with centre Geoff Daniela, who joined the club this season from Penrith, producing a hat-trick in 11 minutes. ''Some days you turn up - not that I ever did - and get three,'' Tigers coach Tim Sheens said.

Sheens might not be able to score three but the fact he can coach was the attraction for Daniela, who joined the club because of Sheens and the way he wants his team to play. And Daniela was on the end of that entertainment last night. ''The brand of footy that the Tigers play, it's always exciting and they're always willing to get the ball out to the backs,'' said Daniela.

It all came after the Tigers trailed their opponents three minutes before half-time. A typically energetic and electric performance from Benji Marshall, a wonderful effort from hooker Robbie Farah, and a dominant display by halfback Robert Lui gave the Tigers the win.

It's no coincidence that they have responded since their defeat at the hands of the Rabbitohs a fortnight ago. Lui returned from an ankle injury against Newcastle and they have not looked back.

Marshall produced the sort of football that no other player can. Confidence is his best friend and in the second half he was extremely difficult to stop.

He has been all the better for Lui's return. He is a better player when he does not have to be the guiding playmaker. When he is allowed to do his thing, he can tear a team apart at will.

The Tigers have been at their best when either Tim Moltzen, who is out for the season, or Lui, are alongside him. They will need Lui, who set all of Daniela's tries up, to remain on the field most of this year. ''It's about time,'' Daniela said. ''I've been at him at training. He's finally delivered it.''

The Warriors were at their inconsistent worst, but they had some valid excuses. They had lost James Maloney and Micheal Luck on match eve, while halfback Brett Seymour fell before half-time. ''Our young blokes just didn't really handle it,'' coach Ivan Cleary said. ''Mentally, they got rattled, and the Tigers turned it on from there. In the second half, once they got on the front foot, we lost our way.''

The rot began just before half-time. First, a lovely ball by centre Chris Lawrence sent winger Lote Tuqiri over, and then with the Warriors willing the whistle to come, a quick spread right allowed Daniela to dummy and put Farah over.

It was certainly convincing in the second. Winger Kevin Locke's error, losing the ball from a kick-return, gave the Tigers the early edge. The Tigers again had success down their right edge, with Daniela scoring. Then, three minutes later, Daniela found his way over again after Robert Lui's bomb found its way back into the kicker's arms. Daniela finished it off well.

The last of Daniela's tries was the best. Lui again provided the key play, sending a wonderful ball to Gareth Ellis, who strode downfield before finding the centre.

I know I should'nt let it get to me but The Telecrap just…Argh!!!!!!!!!!

I have posted on their site 10000 on a friday night with rain all week and Ch9 insulting us by putting our game at 21:00 is pretty good. It just annoys me that they pick our game to show stick it on at this stupid time. I was at the game last night and just buzzing today to read some postives only to be confronted by this drivel. 4 pages on how wonderful St George are and one article about us with one lousy picture.

and by the way we got 10000 playing NZ and 2 Sydney teams just over 150000....mmm

And that's how it was when we won the Grand Final in the tele b/c of terrorists in Bali too

Lui returned from an ankle injury against Newcastle and they have not looked back.

I just have to ask, how hard is it to do a bit of dbl-checking b4 you hand your article in? Lui very definitely returned against the Rabbits, I mean the guy scored a prominent solo try.
