What would one of the most overrated coaches in the competition know?…He coaches by fear...they are scared to make a mistake and they employ dirty tactics to win games...a sign of a good coach...nup!

Take the big 3 out of the Melbourne line up and they have nothing!

Bellamy has been riding the coat tails of the big 3 for a decade now...They go and his results go with them!.

Take out the big 3 and they will have 3 million dollars left in their cap which would buy them Issac Luke, Thurston & Inglis.

Its like when people say this club would fall apart if Farah moved on. Well no, because we'd have his salary to spend on somebody else. Just like the Panthers when they moved on Jennings, Gordon and Lewis. They used all of that coin, and bought half a team that has got them to a pre lim final.

It was hardly an enthusiastic backing of Kidwell by Bellamy. Very measured I think. I hope i get better backing from my referees when needed.

Hahaha Bellamy thinks he might be very close to being a first grade coach , that's not good enough IMO . We need a coach that's already experienced to coach these gun up and comers

@Irvine, do you think that the board would look at all the applicants and make the best possible choice of coach for our club,or do you think Mayer will have the final say.Im only asking for fear of what Marina Go said a couple of weeks ago that they will look at the recommendations of Mayer in making their decision….that scares me a bit as I think he has favourite (s)......

Who knows what he is planning next. I hope the Board don't take too long to work out that Mayer does not deserve to be the CEO of our club. We now have a new board but info is still being leaked to the media.

Their is supposedly a sub committee conducting interviews for the coach.
Unfortunately for the short term as has been stated they will be guided by Mayer's recommendation.

That's the only down side of having purely Business Types being appointed by the NRL, even though we know that we certainly need improvement in that area. The only person that I've heard mentioned where input was to come from was Mayer, and that's a major worry, as his knowledge of the game is certainly not at an expert level.
Hopefully the board is as good as we hoped , and will call for advice from outside the club rather than just take his word for it

I'm sure the Board (sub committee) would have interviewed applicants for jobs in the past….I would like to think the best applicant in the interview process with the best vision for the Club Football wise would get the job regardless of Mayer's input..

I think there's a big difference between bringing an outside coach in to do a club review , when the team was still theoretically in the running for semis , and getting advice from those with a better knowledge of coaching than they do . The review probably had everyone looking over their shoulder.
I'm sure there would be plenty of people who weren't looking for a job themselves who would have been worth at least listening too. Hope so so anyway.
Whoever we get , let's just hope we give him a fair go.
