Membership

If they want more members then they need to fix the website so people can join. I live in Canberra so can't make many games but I'd like to join but the website won't let me

What website problems are you having? I joined up through the website recently and had no issues.

Took about 3 minutes.

You can call them….website isnt the only option....it really isnt that difficult

I daresay we will see quite a few more members this week after last night

I've just this morning become a member for the first time the win last night made me realize we need to support them any way possible and I hope my 3 memberships
( family) goes towards retaining our fullback

It is guaranteed income against poor form and bad weather which both equate to poor crowds.

I did read your post….you also said want a $20 deal for 8 games

There is also the clubs membership challenge at the start of each year where clubs are split into groups and they vie for big cash prizes for the most members signed in a set period

Honestly, get behind it. Look at it as simply supporting your club that you love / or a donation.

$50 must be the cheapest membership rate going? If you make it to 2 games it's basically paid off anyway.

If all us 7000 members made a pledge to sign up 1 more member each we would double our membership to 14,000 how hard is it??… I'm doing just that this week!!!

As many on here have said, give memberships as birthday presents or Christmas presents or whatever!

What a great idea - entry level cost for most birthday presents goes for at least $50 these days….

I went to a business dinner last week that had sirro & skando as speakers.
Also talking was Alan bates from corporate sales & sponsorship. He was saying that the figure they use is ACTUAL members. Can't remember where the other clubs boost their figures from, but if wests did that, they could claim about 13,000, which would put them on par with most others.
So, like statistics, figures can be fudged to make the club look good.

Is anyone else waiting for their membership card to arrive? I received an email stating that it had been posted but could take 3 weeks to arrive. Do they send it around the world 3 times before it gets across Sydney?

They are nice to deal with on the phone but to send a membership 4 weeks after it was ordered and paid for does not make me feel they are highly organised. They could send a paper ticket that arrived in 2 days but it is a good month before the membership pack and card is sent yet alone delivered.

Was thinking the same thing.
I mean they HAVE to send it so they're not saving any money

Indeed, they are great over the phone and in person, problem is the rest of it is way off the mark. Tickets in place of cards for the first round arrived by mail the day after the game, with last weeks being okay via email.

Out of eight member kits ordered on 8 February, only two have been received, arriving separately about ten to twelve days ago, They were supposedly dispatched in twos on 25 & 28 February and the other four early last week. Who knows, the other six may all arrive tomorrow, but I reckon a week or so is more likely, if at all.

I must say though, whilst this year's experience has been anything but good, in the past it all went smoothly.

We may have the least numbers at the moment, the numbers will rise dramatically if we keep winning. I have been a member for many years since i was 7 and i am now 37 thick and thin though many just jump on the ban wagon if the team is winning.
If south lose a lot of games this year which i think is possible (look what happened to us in2012) the fan will turn.
It alway the team that win are followed well.
