MEMO to L.Daley

if qld had the mentality nsw did, allan langer would never have played a game (im using this analagy in reference to sowards defence not being "origin standard" only)

I know i have no support on this, but i truly believe the best "origin" hooker for NSW is Gidley. The guy is regarded as the fittest in the comp, and everytime he's played hooker at rep level for NSW or Australia he's done very well. He'd be great around the ruck against QLD.

Gidley is normally pretty good at dummy half. Maybe they could start with Gidley in the 9, then bring Farah on around the 25th minute.

Except Gidley isn't a hooker, and continuing to pick players out of their damn position is why NSW hasn't won since 2005.

Needs to be a total revamp, coach and selectors need to be punted and someone who realises origin is more of an attacking game these days needs to be bought in.

The biggest problem for NSW is having their captain in the starting line up, it screws the entire backline up positionally when he is ideal for a bench spot.

They (Bellamy, the coaching staff and selectors) have become over obsessed with this idea of 'built for origin'. So much so that they are overlooking form, ability and potential in favour of this 'built for origin' mentality which, really come to think of it, what is built for origin?

What happened to the days of picking sides on ability?

Queensland dont pick player who are supposedly 'built for origin' but we do….its a real successful idea aye?

Lol its funny because I think they got this obsession from QLD many years ago because QLD always seemed to have this 'Origin mentality' (Another thing commentators and coaching staff say) where QLD would steal matches at the death, etc. And because of this NSW have tried to copy QLD by selecting 'Made for Origin' players but thing is, despite that QLD still picked the best players they had/have ability wise where as NSW don't.

And when you think about it, did QLD ever consider whether Inglis was 'Built for Origin' when they picked him, having played just over a dozen first grade games? Did they ever consider that about Thurston when they picked him in 05 after only just cementing a first grade spot? What about Smith? He hadn't even played a full season when they picked him in 03\. Same can be said for Slater, Folau and Boyd.

You can even go back further, as was said earlier did they think that about Langer? What about Lewis and Meninga getting picked as kids? Those guys are seen as 'Tough, origin players' but they initially picked all those guys on potential and ability, the toughness tag came along the more they played.

L.Daley..here is your chance to prove me wrong!…With Watmough seemingly out and Lewis possibly facing suspension...how about picking the form 2nd rower of the year to replace them...one Mr. C. Heninigton!..but as L.Daley can't stand enterprising players Rhino will be overlooked!...carn L.Daley....do your job right for once!!!!

My $$$ would be on either Hindmarsh being bought in or most likely Dean Young will get a call up

I hope NSW get flogged again in this series, then maybe, maybe the selectors AND that rorting Coach will be replaced in 2011!!!

So, Hayne, Watmough, Lyon, Lewis and Lars is out. Obviously with so many forced changes, they will keep the remainder of the squad?

if dean young or beau scott get a run ahead of rhino then the blues selectors should get the sack,

gallen and bird should be in the team if they arent then the selectors are clueless

they obviously want a squad with no speed in it lets have a look

tahu - slow
cooper - slow
weymen - slow
idris - my god he is slow
hindmarsh - solid defender but very slow
gidley - maybe the slowest fullback in the nrl other then fitzy
odonell - slow and sloppy defender

we have no punch in attack, we needed youth speed and power and weve gone back to the old slow and failed, and when they tried to pick youth they get it totaly wrong with idris and pick dugan to cover hayne when dugan has only ever played fullback.

i cant believe these guys get a look in and they consistantly overlook guys like lawry and jennings and even rhino, anyway this team will be lucky to get to 16 points we all know QLD will score atleast 24-30 points and they go ahead and pick this squad

Ben Creagh is a deadset pillow. Hardly 'built for origin'

Anyway, I'll still crack open a six pack next Wednesday and sit there through the game thinking we have some sort of chance. I'll then yell at the tv some more when Ingise carves up 'defensive specialist' Beau Scott. I''ll swear a little more when Cheapshot Billy Slater comes in with a cheapshot. I'll then have nightcap go to bed and think 'well there's always Game Three'.

Fellas, Bellamy PICKS THE SIDE.

Daley is a muppet….......but it's BELLAMY who chose Ennis.

That's right - Bellamy is to blame for selections.

the selectors and " coach " are all to blame for selecting a team that again will be selected on so-called defensive ability. they have no idea of picking form players instead we go back to dads army again!!! barrett, cooper, hindmarsh etc etc. the coach and selectors should have been dumped after the first game where the score completely flattered the blues. foRget the bs about mix of youth and experience pick players that threaten the toads with scoring potential, morris twins, jennings, lawrence, dugan, carney, farah, hayne along with some 80 min workers like rhino, gallen and size frontrows. TOADS BY 20 !! GOODNIGHT BLUES

OMG, how hard is this, you should pick the best team you have. Stay loyal to that team just like QLD has been over the years. This is ridiculous, 7 halves combinations in 7 games. A new half combination in Game II (pearce and barret). However, why isn't Lawrence in the team. He is the best centre in NSW IMO. I might be over rating him but he will smash the living daylights out of Cooper anyday

Snap!!! Spot on! Heighno can do everything Hindmarsh does (2nd/3rd man in every tackle) better and much more! How he is overlooked is an outrage!

Simple, Heighnington and Lawrence aren't media darlings. Hindmarsh, Ennis, etc, etc pimp themselves out to the media and enjoy a good profile in league land. Certainly helps around rep season
