Anybody know how much Meriton will be sponsoring us for?
Also what's happening with Proton? If they aren't sponsoring us anymore I'd like to say kudos for being around like they were.

No idea of the exact amount but I think it is a step up in terms of jersey branding.

Meriton and Ternd Micro Systems are two well respected companies with a good corporate profile.

Logic would dictate it is a better deal for Wests Tigers as well.

Side note it is great to see MKB still in the sponsorship picture

early whispers are that Meriton's deal is a short term one.
:frowning:

someone in one of the other threads said that we actually said no to a long term (3 or 5 years) sponsorship with Proton to take a 1 year with the new sponsor (unnamed at the time).
Brave deal if that's the case but if things go to plan this season then next seasons deal should be a cracker!

If Proton are gone then a big thankyou to them. They seemed to be very good sponsors!

MERITON APARTMENTS THE NEW MAJOR SPONSOR OF WESTS TIGERS
10/12/2010 12:07:04 PM
Wests Tigers has today announced their most lucrative sponsorship deal in securing one of the largest property developers in Australia in Meriton Apartments as the Major Sponsor for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Meriton Apartments have been building quality brand new luxury apartments for over 45 years throughout Sydney and South East Queensland. Meriton is owned by one of Australia’s most successful and astute businessmen in Harry Triguboff.

The deal marks a significant return to rugby league at an elite level for Meriton Apartments who were the inaugural major sponsor of the Wests Tigers in season 2000.

Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said it was great to have a company of the calibre of Meriton involved again with the Club.

“In such a competitive environment, we feel privileged that Meriton has assessed Wests Tigers as one of the leading sporting brands in Australia,’’ Humphreys said.

“Harry is renowned for backing winners. His business success is testament to this and we are confident that this trend will continue over the coming seasons.”

Meriton CEO Harry Triguboff said he was proud to be associated with such a strong and determined team with a wonderful history and passionate supporters.

“In the past few years we have looked with pride at the Wests Tigers U20s team wearing the Meriton logo and it seems only right as some of these players move into the NRL team for us to move up with them,’’ Triguboff said.

“I personally cannot wait to watch the boys run out on to field in 2011 wearing the great new Wests Tigers strip and the Meriton ‘M’. I am sure this will prove to be a most fruitful partnership."

Meanwhile, Wests Tigers also unveiled today their new playing strips for next season.

“We feel the time is right to create our own identity based on the unique features of Wests Tigers,’’ Humphreys said.

“With this in mind, our 2011 jerseys are bold and highlight the properties that we do not share with any other club – the tiger pattern and the colour orange.”

The new designs include features such as flat collars and more body fitting cuts in line with modern day trends following consultation with the playing squad.

Hope so. **Cant find any pics of the back of the new jerseys yet**?
