"The Dragons have also formally released Michael Greenfield from the final year of his Dragons contract having played 12 NRL games during his two-year tenure at the club."

What do you guys think of signing Michael Greenfield he is a prop and weighs about 109 kg and is 191cm tall. We might be able to pick him up cheaply as another depth signing?

Can't say I'm fussed either way. Seems an okay sort of a player but with KG, Groat, Woods, Bell already onboard you'd have to think he'd be struggling for a game. He'd have to be VERY cheap but in any case its best for his own career to go somewhere where he's more of a chance of playing 1st grade.

We will always need front row depth… Look who we used this year:

KG
Gibbs
Woods
Groat
Payten
Fifita
Shirnack

and to a lesser extent Dwyer and Ellis were rotated through there mid-game

I'm kind of worried going into the season with only 4 recognised front rowers in the squad, and KG the only one with decent first grade experience. Bell has played 100 games but is on the older side. Losing Gibbs, Payten and Fifita all at once was a bit unfortunate.

Magpies junior, about 26….would be OK for a depth signing...good age for a prop

Agree with this. He's hardly been given a chance for the Dragons, and he's coming into the right age for a genuinely matured prop. I'd sign him for a base contract and give him some game time during the origin series when it's likely Sauce will get a run, and cover for injuries.

Couldnt crack a regular gig at strugglers Sharks and Souths before he went to St.George. Must be a reason why he hasnt kicked on

before he go injured at souths I thought he was goiong to be a good first grader, basically stalled since that point.
We have similar players already in the system.

One of the most talented forwards going around. I have no idea why he hasnt been able to kick on. Is a better backrower than frontrower, but he has so much talent. Id definately take him on the cheap but wouldnt pay too much for him. He's had plenty of chances and never established himself despite having the talent so something isnt right with him.

Superior player to Matt Bell, on a minimum wage contract he could come in handy when injuries inevitably strike.

Probably hasnt been given a run because of the props he was behing at the dragons….weyman, hunt, merrin and green.. its not like we are signing another player we are getting a junior back

Personally think we need a back up half back more than we need a back up to a back up prop .Don't get me wrong Greenfield is a handy player but we need a back up plan for halfback and that should be our main aim signing wise
