Michael Jennings could yet end up at the Wests Tigers

Jennings is a great player and would look good in our backline but his asking price would be too high, especially for a centre. Money reserved for Jennings should be used on our spine, firstly Farah and then Miller and Tedesco will need healthy uprades next year if they are showing form.

I'd hate to sign Jennings and lose one of our spine because we didn't have room under the salary cap

With comments like that you have effectively ruled yourself out of ever getting a job at the Wests Tigers.
Logic, common sense and forward planning not on our watch mate.

Lets sign Lewis, Lets sign Jennings, Lets sign Kite….ooops um We have to let players go ...salary cap problems.

What a joke.. is this an under 12's club or an NRL club ?

Yeh I agree Irvine….terrific post BlueTige

It's how all clubs operate. Bloke wants to stay for even less money than he can get elsewhere but the club don't want him, blame the salary cap. You want a bloke to stay but he gets better offers elsewhere, play the loyalty card.

As for Jennings, I'd have him here in a heartbeat. If Penrith are that desperate to offload him and will pay a portion of his contract for next year, we can get him for a decent price. He has a tries to games ratio over 50/50 playing running off some dreadful halves, and basically having to create a lot of his own chances. Get him running off Marshall who commands defenders attention he will have a lot more space and will score plenty of tries. Throw a pacey winger like Koriobete outside him and he'll look like a superstar. He is 24 years old, and will be running into his best years over the next couple of seasons.

hahahahaha love your work INK ,
as for somebodys no DH POLICY , dont believe the crap you read about Jennings . P enrith have huge cap problems and Jennings is the scapegoat.Since when is it a crime having a beer on your day off..i reckon the person who made the policy is the DH.

having a beer and having a beer and not handling it is different. Which one is Jennings and if its the first one then why do we know about it.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Koroibete
3\. Jennings
4\. Lawrence
5\. Nofoaluama

Heaps of speed and alll talented, lets just hope we get him

Defensively weak…... Very weak

Not to mention Tedesco and Lawrence are still big question marks after injuries last season, and Jennings is potentially a disciplinary problem. We could find ourselves with most of that backline missing in action by about June 2013\. I'm yet to be convinced Koroibete is ready for first grade. He's damn near unstoppable once he gets going with the ball, but he falls down on basic ball handling and positioning for me.

We only know about it because penrith need to scale back some big dollars and 680 k will do the job .Lewis was pushed as well, he didnt want to go anywhere.

4 or 5 games into an NRL career mate…give him some time
I see your point but most players young have things to work on

So in that article we have a quote from Penrith saying Jennings will be playing for Penrith in 2013, and a quote from Tigers saying Ayshford will be playing for Tigers for 2013.

And from that DT get that Jennings will be replacing Ayshford at the Tigers next year.

No point having gun players if you have no one to pass to them… The priority should be signing up players who will make our current centers look good... We should be building a team around farah miller benji/sirro and teddy

I'll disagree with regards to Koroibte's positional play. His positioning and support play have been highlights of his game for mine. In regards to handling errors, well every player makes them and I'd argue Koroibete's hands are far safer than Lote's.

Would we have to let Ayshford go if we signed Jennings ? I thought the salary cap was going up next year to approx 5 Mill, maybe i am wrong . I also realise some of our top players will get automatic increases when the cap goes up, but we cant keep signing players to contracts then changing our minds 10 minutes later & we still need a prop.

We are spending farm too much money on backs IMO. Jennings, Benji and Lawrence, whilst being a formidable attacking threat, would cost in the order of $1.5 million. This is a massive chunk of cap space, particularly if one of them gets injured.

I would love to sign Jennings - it is the cost to the rest of the squad of signing Jennings that has me worried.

If you have quality halves you can get away with saving a little money on the Centers and Wingers. You can win a comp with solid outside backs whom don't need to be superstars. Look at the Storm this year as the perfect example.

This is why I think Ayshford is a keeper.
