Maybe season 2021 is the year of, instead of winning a couple in a row then losing 4 or 5 in a row, we will lose Rounds 1 and 2 and concede 70 points, then string together a run of wins?? You never know!!

A run of wins ...what 9 ...10 ??

I think you missed the sarcasm

I was hoping you saw a burning bush and were a man of the cloth ...the odds would be mind blowing

The odds of me seeing that and being that are also mind blowing. Way too sinful (and smart) for that.

Yeah was putting it all in a multi ........

Respect your opinion but I didn't see Madge missing tackles, no/low effort plays, and giving 7 tackle re-sets. A number of players yesterday need to have a hard look at themselves and the guys that did put in need to hold them to account.

I also respect your opinion & yes he didn’t do those things that you have stipulated but he chooses Joey & Kepaoa ahead of Mbye & Talau on the left side which to me is a no brainer if these two we’re on that side they would not have scored all those tries. Madge does stuff up some team selections which contribute to the poor performances.

Really .... He is trying to build from the ground up and has done an excellent job so far with recruitment considering he took over a club with cap problems. We lose the first 2 games of the year against the 2 of the best teams in the comp and people want to replace him with another coach (who could be another JT). Madness to me.
Lets give him the season before we judge and maybe a chance to play a team outside the top 4.

JT and Madge both have the same winning % at WT. 39%

EDIT: apologies, Madge’s winning % is 37% at WT

Brooks was playing great under JT. Best form of his career.
Stats don't lie.

In fairness to Madge he took over a team that had to have the worst squad in the comp... Massive cap problems and even cap penalty for Farah.
He is a top line proven coach who has won 2 comps and current NZ coach.. We could of had Belly coaching here the last 2 years and even he would struggle to turn this bunch around. I still have full faith in Madge and will assess at years end.

I honestly don't know that there is a coach out there that can turn this club around.

Failure and mediocrity seems to be a part of our fabric and I don't know who can change it, let alone how they would do it.

Each year I approach the season with optimism, this is the year the drought ends. And after our offseason recruiting drive the forum shared that optimism. I didn't expect us to beat the Raiders or the Roosters, but I genuinely didn't expect to see them give up so early in the year.

I feel sorry for Madge. He sees the bigger picture and what is wrong with the club, but for whatever reason he can't get the group to bring that to fruition on the field. In saying that neither could Cleary, Taylor, Potter or even Sheens consistently.

It's frustrating to watch other teams go on a spending spree over the offseason and turn things around in one year. I feel like we've been going around in circles trying to do the same thing for the last 10 years.

I don't know what it will take to fix us. Maybe Madge is the man for the job, maybe he isn't. But I don't think sacking him 2 games into a contract extension is smart business.

We came 9th the year before he joined. Hardly the worst squad in the the NRL. In his first year he got us to 9th with this inherited squad. In 2020 with a squad more of his own we finished 11th. After 2 rounds in 2021 with a squad almost entirely his own we’re coming 15th.

We have conceded 26 points in the last 13 games we’ve played, an NRL record.

Actually , you right only because the coaching talent pool these days is pathetic (not player pool ) and I see McGuire as just another Bellamy clone

How do you expect a coaches who are clones of the top coaches to excel with inferior talent to the top sides .. they cannot

You need a coach that has different temperament, different philosophy and skill set to excel at the tigers .

Sheens won comp as was his own man
I see hoolbrook at titans , had varied Australian experience and did his own thing in England and you could see the titans improve as the season went on last year .

And yet we finished 9th the year before he started and 9th again in he’s first year with the so called worst squad in the comp

I’m not sold on Madge but I voted to keep him for now .
We’d be even more of a laughingstock if he was punted .
I dunno ?‍♂️
Just got writers block ?

Holbrook was just interviewed on NRL 360. If things don’t work out with Madge that the style we need. Honestly though who found a guy like that, that thinks like that? Watching the Building Titans it appears it was Steve Mitchell and he even called one of his former players from the cowboys who was playing in the ESL under Holbrook and asked him his opinion of the coach. ‘Lachlan Coote’ BTW.

We know Madge's approach (unlike when Cleary was here) has been investing in youth. We know this is a long term approach that doesn't bring immediate success. But it is precisely those youth who are shining - Laurie, Stefano, Tuki... I think in time this squad we are building will do really well. Definitely too soon to change coaches again.

I’m not a Maguire fan never have been happy for him to go but it will achieve nothing to get rid of him right now. Need to wait till end of season I just can’t understand the rush to extend his contract
