This forum has done quite the 180 on Ivan over the last few years, and understandably so. But I remember when he was our coach, he was the greatest thing sliced bread and any kind of criticism was met with a pretty hostile response. Now the consensus is he just got lucky with the squad he inherited at Penrith.

I would never want the club to fold or relocate. I think if either happened I’d probably stop watching league all together.

I’m not entirely blaming Madge. I don’t think the roster is great and if anything I’d say I’m more critical of the CEO and board rather than the coach. But you can’t just bury your head in the sand and ignore results. Yes Ivan damaged our cap beyond belief but the current roster is pretty much what Madge has put together and In terms of results and ladder position the team has gone backwards every single year Madge has been coach.

To me that signals the team is regressing and issues need to be addressed. Just because I want the team to succeed and because I call out poor results and performance doesn’t mean I’m not a true supporter.
Im not saying that your not a true supporter,I can see the passion in your posts.....BUT just remember Ivan stuffed our cap with players who wanted to play FOR HIM,he then abandoned ship...we had to suffer the consequences...If your a real fair dinkum supporter you would realise the youth we have in the squad, the youth in the pathways and the experience Madge has at his disposal now are what he has to mould into a unit capable of playing NRL standard week in week out...
If you look at the last 3 games,we havent been flogged by 50 every game, they are gelling and learning as they go,injuries dont help....its not the time to slit our wrists but its time to back Madge and co throughout this year and see how we end up....SPECULATING THIS EARLY IN THE SEASON ONLY CAUSES MORE GRIEF....

I hope we get beat this week then madge might be out the door has he ever changed the side in 4 years the blokes to scared to make changes who cares if he made mass changes and they failed where a disgrace at the moment anyway he won a comp with south’s cause he had a gun side it’s time for a change

HE had a gun side.....and now you judge him with the youth and development we are going through......ORDINARY comment.....

Game direction is controlled by the hooker ( no such thing today) now called dummy half. Benny Ellias changed the game, before him hookers like Ian Walsh were slow work horses . Today the dummy half directs the ball movement from the play the ball, this is critical . The half and the dummy half control the game. This is where the tigers lack of communication continually breaks down. This to me is a coaching problem that has to be fixed if we hope to win a game.. Please give just one captain, the present 5 captains is rediculous, imagine having 5 captains on a ship !

Ivan has always been a good coach and a great man manager like Bennett, Bellamy and Sheens. While I don't like what he did to WTs, I do admire his achievements at the Panthers.

The blokes had 4 years and got worse every year how long do u want to give him
Mate he has had 4 years of garbage cap to sort ,try to buy AFFORDABLE players, try to mould youth with experience and all you and the wrist slitters want to do is sack him...
DO YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND THE NRL and what it takes to become a successful club,no I doubt it ....
The guy loves his players, the club and has passion for the game ...if the wanna bee NRL players cant produce then thats on them...STEF even said the losses are on US not Madge,he gives us the tools, support and anything else we need ....open your eyes and you might see a different picture ....

My eyes are open we are not improving where getting worse he can’t even manage a bench rotation last years series on tiger town just prove how desperate he is they don’t wanna play for him he’s to scared to drop any senior players in case they ark up

I dunno. I think most would consider him to be a good coach, but we nonetheless absolutely loathe the guy. At the time he was a genius. On the Bus was magic.
But ultimately what he did to us truly set us back.
He made some real poor recruitment decisions. Sure, every team does, but when he left us, it was in a deep salary-cap quagmire and because we kinda believed in him there was a visceral reaction. He did the dirty. It wasn’t cool. It’s still not cool.
But still, he’s not a bad coach.
