What the F is pathways? How does it differ from last year.
Besides the wests HM team the remaining SG and Balmain HM were terrible this year and only a handful of players from their putting their hands up.

Is our pathways position now indicative of a solid commitment that all the Wests and Balmain boys are happy to ply their trade as Wests Tigers juniors and not consider any other clubs.

Is the new coach planning a meet and greet with all our best 16 year olds to get a gage of whether one of them will be a Sam Walker or Reese Walsh equivalent and help the club to premiership in 5 years?

Its being honest. He is clearly banking on juniors coming through and in 3yrs will be really when the 1st wave hits from U19s etc.

If we want to be a pathways team then it’s going to take alot of time to do it right mixed with the right winners/experience
 
I had some belief in Sheens but his 15 minute presser was pretty underwhelming. Kept saying the same things which don't really make sense. Haven't seen Noddy speak before either but as expect full of cliches.

Hope I'm just reading too much into it but the first impressions of post Madge error wasn't the best.

I'll see the morons who supported this in two to three years when they're calling for the head of the next poor bugger who has to coach this pack of bludgers.

Sheens is talking up the juniors because he knows how to build a positive environment and instill belief. For me that was always Madge's problem - he never really instilled belief and, from the documentary, we saw that his player feedback was quite simplistic.

The players can say what they want, but they looked confused most of the time (except the last 6 weeks). They only got their shot together due to Hastings. Hastings may love Madge, but of he good coach comes in and Hastings will love them too.

With a young squad you have to be able to coach and build a great culture. This is Sheens' bread and butter. Madge had success with great players. He didn't coach players to make them great. Sheens would see that.

Madge didn't start talking about making incremental improvements each week until Sheens came in. Prior to that it was "we have to work harder" all players work hard...they need to specifically know why it wasn't working.

I thought Madge cared and seemed like a decent guy, but he was put of his depth and it's best he moved on.

Being honest would be saying it wouldn’t matter who the coach is right now but to get the media off our back we’ll punt Madge, risk losing our best players and hope for the best whilst we watch the top clubs steal our young talent that we developed over the next 3 years.
 
This has been a well planned operation . Maybe we could call it a special operation like Putin. The call to move on from Madge was probably made awhile ago. They obviously have a replacement signed and sealed and will wait till the dust settles before revealing all.

The timing was well planned, day before SOO 1. Todays headlines, but will be over taken by SOO media for the next few days and all the negative press will evaporate quickly.

Sad to see Madge go because he had a real dig and not much went right for him, but I want a winning team more than anything and I am not sure Madge was going to deliver. Fingers crossed it’s Ciraldo who is next in line and has the odd chocolate soldier follow.

I guess the bottom line is, without some quality recruitment no coach will make much difference, but Madge has left some very good foundations

Look at The Panthers....they nurtured their talented Juniors. It really isn't rocket-science. Madge isn't that type of coach.

Yeah I didn’t buy much of it either.

I said it yesterday, he was supposed to be helping Madge this year and he seems to have completely failed him.

Tim is part of the horrific year whether he like it or not.

He looked quite upset so I’m not demonising him, but his reasons weren’t good enough.

Spin with a frown.

Did he rat on his mate, I don’t know.

Gus will be filthy.
