Michael Morgan

Gotta say i was excited by this news at first. He was one of my favourite players 5 years ago. I Joined that bandwagon in 2017 or so when Morgan, Taumalolo and Paul Green got the Cows to the GF. I loved the way Morgan played. He was a typical Queensland player - tough and tenacious.

However, I thought he took a mental time out in 2021 but sounds like he retired due to medical issues. If he hasn't had any football in 2 years, we cant be even thinking about signing him unless it's a train and trial deal which is not something Morgan would want to do.

Quality player but he has been out the game too long and had some serious shoulder issues.

Sad to think there really isn't many quality young half backs coming through the ranks with all the skill sets required to manage a NRL Team. Maybe a sad indictment on the state of the game or junior pathway programs.

The best half backs these days are the Veterans lead by DCE, Hughes, Johnson, Townsend, Reynolds. Even Hynes is 27 years old. Junior Chin seems to be the rare example.

Probably Broke and a couple mates on the drink thought offering him to us on say $ 300 k would get him out the shot , play one year get hurt , retire again with $ 250/300 k not bad , couple weeks hard work get fit , couple weeks in re hab , Matt Rogers please , but Scotty S. I’m shocked he even thought of it

stupid decision.... next
Give him a reserve grade contract and an opportunity after 12 weeks of season to get promoted but I would think it would take him 18 months to get anywhere ready and if he wants to to it come to Sydney now and Start training with the squad

This is probably just speculation and rubbish.

However, we signed a coach who hasn’t been coaching because all the decent coaches knocked us back.

All the decent halves have knocked us back, so I don’t know what the next step is…

You probably wouldn't be suited to a management role. However at the Wests Tigers management you would be perfect. They too don't know the next step.

Ciraldo knocked us back and now the Bulldogs are stuck with the flogger for another 4.5 years … do you think Ciraldo is a decent coach?

Id call that good luck rather than good management. We did sack our coach to chase Ciraldo.

Do you think we’re in a better position with Benji for another 4.5 years?
I'd say no.

But it's nice to see all that hype around Ciraldo has been completely unwarranted. Sure they've got injuries, but even when they were at full strength earlier in the season they were ordinary.

Of course, too early in his career to write him off. But wouldn't be surprised if he was just another Trent Barrett.

You’d have to wonder why, when experienced coaches are available, do we choose to find one with absolutely no coaching experience.
We have a hands on CEO who likes to kick a ball around before the game, and lounge in the change room looking disinterestedly at his phone.
I’d guess the board could probably have more bluff and buster over a rookie coach?
