Mick Potter anyone?

We were horrible under him.

Jeez, I thought we were 9 wins from 15 under him 2014 before Farah's "can't coach" rubbish blew our season apart.

This would make Potter a zombie.

Wests killed his coaching career, it is unlikely to rise from the dead.

I was fairly young when Potter coached us. I thought he was terrible? Genuinely interested as to why people disagree - can someone explain why he wasn't that bad?

He was bad, not a people person at all. Very introverted.

Yes and the team was finals bound ,. Then the Dummy spitter had other ideas , the team was playing well up to then. And Brooks was playing his best footy ..

Potter is the first to admit his limitations, I’ve heard him speak about them on a number of occasions. That’s why there were ‘Dummy spitters’ as you call them. This is we’re the culture of the club truely went south and the players ruled. We are still trying to fix Potter’s legacy.

Potter’s or Farah’s? Because the dummy spits, ‘boyz club’, and coach ousting didn’t stop there.

No it didn’t but Potter’s is when it became ingrained into the culture and he didn’t have the personality and skills to stop it.

True, we've been a weak club for a while now. Should've stamped that out a lot earlier.

Yeah, like the Tigers are going to turf Madge for Potter.

Never going to happen ! There will be another club looking for a coach next season as well .

Tigers go backwards in player upgrades so don't rule out the same for a coach upgrade

Potter was OK.

Never forget when he hooked Utai and Utai threw a tantrum on the sideline, stamping his feet and whatnot... embarrassing.

Didn't get to see a lot of Potter but didn't Farah say he can't coach? Lol....

Apparently he and Farah and pretty close haha

Flanagan has the best(and worst)CV...!
But only John Morris has had recent and relative experience.....if not overwhelming given Hannays near identical achievement after early hiccups.Hes a safe if not spectacular choice, like Potter
Theres really nobody else with NRL experience

He needed support from those at the top though to achieve that and it seemed like the head honchos were scared of upsetting Robbie and Benji

Potter needed the support of those at the top which he didn't get. The head honchos were scared of upsetting Farah and Benji so they left Potter out to dry. Potter was never going to win the battle against the boys club.

Farah saying he can't coach - that is a great reason to hire him as an assistant.

Yep, I was stunned when the Brian Smith investigation took place. There was abslutely no reason for it. We were travelling along really well on field, finals were looking good and then Farah and co. turned everything on its head. Potter never had a chance which is a great shame. The only thing worse than the boys club was Grant Meyer the twitter happy fool.

I liked Potter and his methods....unfortunately those methods didnt suit the boys club,if they werent put on their pedastals by the useless board and CEO at the time, things may have been different...Brooks played better and the team was winning and heading in the right direction to have a finals appearance ...
Maybe Madge could see the lingering problems within the group and thats why he didnt re sign Benji....just my opinion...

By group I mean board players and club as a whole...Benji is a club icon and he had many, many followers and supporters....sometimes that cant be to healthy in a cuthroat environment like an NRL club....

There's not much chance of him coming back, but he's an excellent coach with a really good eye for up and coming talent.
