Mick Potter Appreciation Thread

It is inevitable, given Grant Mayers reluctance to come out and assure Potters job for 2014, its that Potter will now be sacked.

Thanks Mick for:

1) Being honest and up front with the fans in your press conferences
2) For having the courage to blood the young players in first grade and instilling confidence in them.
3) For not playing people out of position when injuries hit.
4) For trying to build a culture where the team is more important than any player.
5) For benching underperforming players.
6) For giving players like Simona a go when previous coaches had him destined for a career in reserve grade.
7) For trying to get the team to play to a structure

We the fans in this Forum are passionate about our team, quite often, we our views on how the coach and players are performing are spot on… I would like to thank Mick for the following and wish him all the best for the future, he has every right to feel hard done by.

I support and appreciate Mick Potter's efforts! Give the poor guy a chance to settle down. However, the Board needs to be dismantled with all existing members' positions to become open ASAP to new recruitment.

Give it to Potter new exactly what he was getting into but still had a go ! This club has to be taught a lesson DO NOT RENEW MEMBERSHIPS NEXT SEASON !!!

Yeah the statement this morning doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence. It's far from convincing for Potter. I reckon they will monitor things over the final month and make a call at the end of R26\. If Potter goes though, i'll be dead set filthy. Forget the financials of the club for a moment, but unless Potter has done something remarkably against the club's wishes, he shouldn't be sacked. This group of players already got one coach sacked and if they get another one sacked, it'll do my head in. Rumours of players not supporting Potter fully are unacceptable. Suck it up princesses! Hard work is good for you.

Honestly our board are filth, so nothing would suprise me, it's just funny because the coaches have changed the players have changed but the only constant in our club is the board. When will they be changed. We are already going through a cleanout, if the players are not happy let them leave why stop with benji let him take the rest of the locker room princesses with him. Our club is the only place on earth where the employees hire the boss. I'm sick of hearing our players whining about the coaches maybe if they just kept their mouth's shut and focused on their job's we would know how to win again.

Mick inherited this basket case let him finish the job he has been open honest hard and smashed the boy's club, what we've all been screaming for for ages, if the board sack him then it's time to start finding the e-mail addresses of our board members and start telling them what we think, when that fail's we can just start on dave smith.

Wish I could choose my boss… Grow up. You are professionals. To whoever is losing faith or whatever in the dressing room potter should just show them reserve grade.

The guy is doing a fine job, he probably would've dropped ayshford or benji months ago if for one they were not getting milestones and two a lot of fans loved these players.

He is doing the right thing.

The club has had good signings, found form in struggling players (Blair) and brought up some young kids. Potter would have to have had a say in all of this.

Please stay.

If Potter does get punted, I will again not renew my membership next year. I refuse to put my money into a club that mistreats individuals that have the best interests of the club at heart.

Give Potter a crack he's doing the best with what he's got. This is the clean out we all wanted and needed. love seeing these juniors come through the ranks. Sick of these pea hearted players that think they rule this club. They punted one coach, but why aren't they accountable for any of the blame?????

Maybe benjis manager was right by telling the young guys to stay away from the rubble this club has turned into.

Give Potter a chance. He has had to put up with a rotten side, some senior players not pulling their weight and the politics surrounding benji marshalls future at the club throwing the whole season into dissaray.

Any coach would have struggled…..let him have 12 games next year and then make a call if you will.....at least he will have some control of the side, the signings and his coaching staff around him.

HANDS OFF POTTER !!!!!
