I was gunning for Folkes but feel we got the best of who was available.

The year ahead excites me again.

Welcome to the Tigers, Mr Potter

I heard Potter interviewed tonight on 2UE and he said something that was music to my ears and confirms to my mind Potter will be a successful at the WT. Brandy asked Potter about the halves and fullback positions and how in 2012 WT tried a number of players at 7 without success…Potter replied by saying he watched the NYC GF and he thought Jacob Miller was a star and that "I want Jacob to stay at this club"...to me that's the biggest endorsement Jacob could receive from a Day 1 coach...I hope Potter gives Miller a good shake of the #7...

Ah finally! Someone with clear thinking and no biases.

awesome, which means Benji back at 5/8, be interesting to see what he does with Anasta then, 2nd row or lock.

or least biases in line with your own…..

everyone has biases, unless they have no opinion.

Im not 100% sold on Miller myself, clearly talented but I can see why he wasnt selected in first grade.

He was selected, just not twice in a row.

Is there a chance Mick could move Benji out of the halves?

Something like…

3\. Lawrence
4\. Marshall

6\. Anasta
7\. Miller

I remember talk about this last year or year before about benji being fullback? But no way can he play centre. He is a 5/8 and be stupid not to play him there.

Anasta will not be in the halves if Miller plays.

Also these opinions of Utai on the bench is exactly an option that sheens would do.. Either starting or not in the team (I like him but we will only go backwards if utai is on the bench).

If benji was moved out of the halves I would have Mulachy and Miller or Sironen and Miller

Yeah in about 4 years time.

Exactly tigermaniac! For a start Marshall will never move out of the halves - going back to the number 6 will be the only move. As far as Mulachy, he has only played a handful of Toyota Cup games and his poor defence means first grade is a long way off…

I hope that Benji does not dictate to Potter where and with whom he wants to play. Benji recently stated that he could not wait to play 5/8 ouside Anasta at 1/2\. With Benji, Miller, Anasta and Sironen, Wests Tigers now have an embarrasment of riches in the area of 1/2, 5/8 and lock. It will be very interesting to see how Potter solves this "happy" problem. P.S. With Anasta, Farah, Miller and Benji West Tigers also now have an abundance of players who are very adapt at kicking in general play.

Anasta will not be in the halves if Miller plays.

It will be interesting what Potter does in the early games,Sironen is the forgotten player in all this,i don't know if he can play centre or backrow,if Miller plays half. Anasta is getting a bit sluggish to play in the halves but has a great footballing brain which will come in handy when attacking the line providing he can get a working relationship going with RF & BM.

I think that if Miller plays 7, then Anasta has to play 13, Benji shouldn't play anywhere but 6\. Sironen when he comes back (anyone know how the shoulder is going?) I'd play Sironen off the bench and playing 2nd row when he comes on. I don't think Siro is a 5/8 or he will be the biggest one ever to play there. When Anasta goes in 2 years, Siro has the lock spot…in a perfect world.

The first real test for Potter, he's already identified Miller as a talent so that would suggest that he is considering him for halfback, which makes Anasta surplus in the halves. Someone's nose is going to be out of joint, and hopefully Potter tackles this head on in the early days and stamps out the prima donna attitudes that can sometimes show.

Adopt a "club first, team second, individual third" philosophy from the outset. It would be in the boards interest to back Potter to the hilt as well, as they will not be able to afford to sack another coach if they lose the dressing room.

You'd hope Braith is experienced and professional enough to realise that at his age, his days of playing in the halves are numbered. He still remains a good backup if needed but it seems pretty clear to everyone apart from Tim Sheens that he is a backrower these days.

guys just saw this on the WT website… a video on Potter calling for members http://www.weststigers.com.au/news-display/Claws-Membership/65437

Just noticed how he introduced himself as the "new" coach and not the "head" coach.

I'm hoping he has more authority with the players then he does with the membership department/media cuz the sooner we can dispell the 'rookie' myth the better.

He is certainly no "Rookie" and will put some of the so called experienced coaches to shame. By the way he has another thing to attend to - where will he play problem child Moltzen?

I think it's about the word head

After Brandy asked Potter on 2UE other night that he return to Australia for a head job
